64bit Server

05/27/2010 13:53 ricky92#1
Hello ElitePVPers, I've just recently discovered how to manage a metin2 private server and I'm doing pretty well with it. However, I would like to run a server on a 64bit OS (preferably FreeBSD 8.0), so does anyone know how to make the server files compatible with it? I think it's just a matter of libraries, but I have no idea where to look at. I tried installing the /usr/ports/misc/compat3-4-5x/ to no avail. Could anyone kindly help me? :D Thanks in advance.

P.S.: sorry if I didn't write it in German, but I don't know the language at all D:

In fact, I have read of a server which accomplished that recompiling the libs. But I have no idea how to do that. xD

Just install PAE on it. so you can modifie / compile the kernel which u using atm.

PS: make sure you allready have installed FreeBSD 7.1 / 7.2 32 Bit, it works better as 8.0

Youtube.com installing PAE / PAE installieren.

oder google.de > "PAE installieren Syareh"

oder sufu "PAE installieren"

64Bit Libs.
Aber ich habe schon alles getestet auf zweiten Root daher kann ich auch PAE als Feedback Positiv bewerten.
Und ja habe gesehen du hast Reportet nur den Double Post und ich habe den Push drunter Reportet.

^this is right,

just compile/modifie or installing the PAE kernel.
64 libs are buggy, so with PAE it's possible to use more than 4 GB (2,9GB) Ram on your Hostsystem
