[Help]Account Server [Anti Virus Problem] ***MUST READ***

05/26/2010 22:38 danieldada#1
Hey guys and your occasional girl. I'm having a slight issue, I'm not sure what it is being recognized as but my anti virus software on my main hardware node is picking up my accountserver.exe (executable) as a virus and deleting it.

(I'm hoping to locate someone who actually can fix this, if you can im willing to pay.)

few notes:

You won't be given unsupervised access so don't ask for it.

You CAN-NOT modify ANYTHING that has to do with my anti-virus setup.

You WILL be given thanks or whatever you wish for. ^_^

And you can find another accserver.exe fixed somewhere ..You tested it

To start, dont pay anyone for that. I mean, google is free. Many people have that problem with other files, but the fix is common.
Maybee you could say what antivirus you use?

A possible fix (depending on antivirus) would be add the file to exception list.

First, I have tried 7 or so different account server.exe's aswell as the oldest accountserver .exe i could find. Still no luck you CANNOT modify ANY settings on the anti virus node i specified that above.

Well then no fix... The problem is the antivirus, so the antivirus shall be fixed.
And the idea i have is that all accservers do that.

Mine for example do scans by itself, but dont delete (give me the option to ignore). Or i can stop those auto-scans.

It's most likely a false positive because of the way the acct server must connect to the database in order to approve people logging in.

Yea but then why would the msg server work fine? it does the same think by connecting to the DB loading the data and inserting the data.

The MsgServer will do it at times. IT all depends on what AV you use.

I run Norton and i have added the server folder to the exceptions list so it won't scan it but every once in a while when i run the account server Norton will pop "backdoor.graybird" and say it needs to be deleted, anyone know how to config so that this won't happen?
