Creating A New Server Project. Anyone Interested?

Well as of now, I am going to deploy a conquer private server. I am going to use one of the newer sources but edit it dearly I'm sure.

This is my dedicated server:

HP 407234-B21 ProLiant BL465C Dual-Core Blade Server
  • 6 GB Ram - PC2-5300 DDR2 Registered DIMMs at 667 MHz
  • AMD Phenom II X2 555 Black Edition Dual Core - 3.2GHz - OC'd 3.85Ghz
  • T1 Connection Speeds, Theoretical Download at 23 MBit/s Upload at 2 MBit/s
  • Overclocked Bus/Ram/CPU Speeds

If anyone wants to join in and help out that would be great. I want to set this server off like no other and get many users. I do have a domain name but it is not named to the client, therefore that sucks but it will still do the trick.

Please post here or contact me at: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

I want serious inquiries only. I need some experienced associates that have worked with these private servers for a while.

Here is a little about me:

My name is Caleb Keith, I am 18 and a Senior Web Designer and Analyst for Adventure Promotions based in Cleveland, Ohio. I have 4 years of experience in hardware/software/web design and help desk support. I am MCSA certified as well as A+ certified and MCP and MCTS. I am going to college and will have my Associates in a few months. I will go on to get my Bachelor's in Applied Science as a computer major.

Again, If anyone wants to help that would be awesome. I want to kick this thing off like no other. Please post here and let me know. I will have this server dedicated 24/7, so it will be pretty efficient.

I would like to join, i have little experience with the private server coding. but i can do the little things. I can also code PHP better than I can private servers.

Anyways, i'll help you out.

Excuse me for sounding bitchy but why on earth would you need a server such as that for a co project?...

The only time you need anything powerful at all is if you are running binaries and if you are running binaries then there is no point to begin with...

That plus overclocking is even more excessive... yes if done properly it won't cause any serious strain but it seems silly to but any excess strain on a system that will be running 24/7 when you really have no use for the resources.

The vps I had for my server was fairly basic and I never had any problems with resources and it only had a gig of ram. Running windows, sql server, game server, login server, web server and server restarter app I wrote even using coemu's flawed socket per client system it was only using 500-600 mb ram.

YES you will use a decent chunk if you get an active player base but a system like you are describing just seems extremely excessive.

Anyways, I'm sure you know what you're doing and hope your project gets lots of success... just seems odd to me. Especially for a project just starting up.

Well I got the system for free from my instructor lol. Yeah a little excessive, not neccessary, but very fun. I like playing with full speed and everything and you never know when you get an active player base so it is a good thing to be prepared instead of taking the server down to upgrade and migrate, that takes a long time. Anyways yeah I mean you are being honest I appreciate that. And thanks for the hopes!

If he has it on had might as well use it, eh?
