This has always been possible in many areas, due to the 2 second delay between the end of a ressurection spell and the target actually coming alive, but with the new Factions skills, you can keep your party up and ticking even when objectives are failed [like, protect the King at Thunderhead Keep].
Simply have your party whipe, or the mission-critical npc die, etc, while you are A) holding the ashes Lively Was Naomei or B) standing near a friendly Spirit of Restoration. This will cause you to autorez, and allow you to walk about normally, all the while with the Return To Outpost button prominently displayed.
This no longer works in the challenge missions, as you now automatically return to outpost after defeat. I know of no way to circumvent this, but would be VERY thankful if someone told me how to.
You might not be able to defeat many missions in this manner if you can not complete plot critical events, such as defeating all of the foes surrounding the turtles in Gyala Hatchery. It is *very* useful in some areas, though, such as the Fissure Of Woe and the Underworld, as you can avoid having to port back due to NPC death, etc.
