What is a private Silkroad server?

A private Silkroad server offers a similar experience to the official Silkroad servers, yet often has higher rates to facilitate a more exciting and fast paced online experience. If you are tired of leveling slow and grinding, a private server may be for YOU! An emulator is a program that simulates a server without the need for the bulky server files. SEA is a small, 7MB program that comes with a database.

What is the SEA Emulator?

The SEA emulator is coded/written in Visual Basic, or at least the version we have (1.0.0) is. The latest version is much more stable than what we have, but until the updated files are in the hands of Merlin, 1.0.0 will be the version used. SREMU was the pre-cursor to this project and was also GPL meaning it was free to edit and basically open source. However, Pax took SREMU, added a few lines of code ("200 Max" - jMerlin) and started charging for his "Silkroad Emulator Advanced" which goes against the GPL. But thanks to Merlin for cracking the "SEA Guard", Windrius for adding missing files, and Shadowz75 for providing the emulator, a public, FREE version has been made created.

What can you do in SEA?

SEA is fairly complete, but buggy.
Here is a basic list of what you can do:

Attack (normal attacks do not work)
Use the GM console
Adjust Rates
Enjoy a damage cap over 65,535 (due to 1.150 client!)
Host a hamachi server for friends
Use most skills without crashing or complications

You can run around, spawn any item/monster you like, and chat. Be that as it may, attacking mobs with the rates or damage values set too high will cause the server to crash, as it's very buggy.

Setup

To give a server a name go into the config .ini and add:

Where XXXXX is the name of your server.
