Amplified meteor/db drop sound

Hi,

I dont know if this has been posted before as the search button decided not to work for me, but please accept my apologies if it has.

I brought a new sound card today and the installation CD came with a wave editing software.

I used that to increase the met/ db drop sound volume. Its now 10 times louder than the original so therefore you will still hear a met/db even when your volume is low :) .

You can download it here- [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

or here if the previous link dont work [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

after you downloaded it, go to your sound directory D:\Program Files\Conquer 2.0\sound (assuming that you have installed Conquer in C drive) and backup your existing bell.wav before you copy it and paste in the new one. This way, you can easily change back the old one if you dont like my one.

The quality is not too great as theres distortions due to the amplification but hey- you will never miss a met or db again!

enjoy!

Nice job, +1 karma

In your directory you put D:\, I think it should be C:\

Yeah, sorry about that... Its cos I installed CO on another hard drive ( I just copied and paste the directory).

For most of you, it will be C:\Program Files\Conquer 2.0\sound

This is a neat concept, especially for archers; I'll check it out.

I dont use amplification of any sound at CO. I just simply remove the sound file except the bell.wav and itemdrop.wav that would b nice hear it just the Meteor and some drop tug of a item e.g. bandles,diamonds...

I like your idea, very useful for Archers who don't use Cotobo... The sound of your file is pretty harsh though, my girlfriend said she'd crap her pants if that thing went off when a met dropped, especially if her volume is already high and the met drops close by...

I did some editing on the original bell.wav and it's more noticable for when mets and dbs drop but is a little more cleaned up and not too startling...

Check it out if you like, I've included the original bell.wav and my alternate for comparison.
