Troubles logging in to the Steam based servers (Counter-Strike etc.)?

If you have problems logging in to the Steam-based servers, you will probably find a couple of useful tips in this FAQ.

"Kicked" errors
If you recieve a "kicked" error, when you are trying to connect to our servers, the problem is probably due to one of the following problems:

Nick and password
We're using nick protection on the majority of the servers. These servers will have to recognize your nick, before you can play. The easiest solution is to play with our game client (You can download the client here), or to write this in the Counter-Strike console - press the 1/2-button:

setinfo _pass yourpassword (press enter)
retry (press enter)

Note, that you furthermore have to write your gamer nick in the game under Player Name.

"Yourpassword" is the same password that you're using when you're logging on to the site.

If you don't wish to use the setinfo solution every time you're playing, instead you can create a file called userconfig.cfg:

1) Create a text file

2) Write this in the file:

setinfo _pass yourpassword

3) Save the file

4) Rename the file to userconfig.cfg

5) Put it in your Steam folder. For instance:
C:\program files\Steam\SteamApps\"your e-mail"\counter-strike\cstrike

Rate
Some servers are rate protected. For instance, if your rate is above 1, then you cannot play on servers with 1 as the maximum rate. You can check your statistics here.

Basic Members
If you are a Basic Member, then you might get kicked, when a City Member is logging on to the server. That?s because City Members have precedence to the servers.

Miscellaneous
There?s an error in Valve?s Steam system, which may cause you to get an error similar to "Error Verifying STEAM userID ticket". To fix that:

1) Log out of Steam
2) Close Steam
3) Delete the file ClientRegistry.blob in your Steam folder
4) Reopen Steam
5) Log on
Download vom Client hier: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
