Since nobody ever reads the nx forums or the tech support forums. im gonna post this here for your help.

Ok so I've been playing around for a long time. Since the closed beta age and i found many people have had this issue including some of my friends. so here's the fix.

If you have Symantec's Endpoint Protection its protecting the kernel hooking / root kits which hacksheild runs by. so what does it do? block it.

you can do the following: add all hacksheild files to the exception database of Symantec's Endpoint Protection or you can get a new antivirus. My recommendation is AVG. now AVG is free so watch out. because of this people hide viruses in the thing saying its the real thing. avg is found from free.avg.com it is a legit anti~virus. but like i said Symantec's Endpoint Protection is causing the issue. i hope this helps. Yes i did test this out on my friend who was having the same issue and it does work.

G.L enjoy your mabinogi experience.

you should say its a known cause when in fact any program that blocks or inhibits game protection from loading is going to cause problems unless it is a program to detach a specific version of game protection from the process aka Bypass

1. quiet
2. quiet
3. people dont want an explanation they want a fix. what did i give? a fix. so hush up and stop bitching cause i didnt explain it enough.

also when you look at the error is says
Error 1x0000108
Location: Hackshield

so how does one describe that? it doesnt even say the cause. all you know is the error is with hackshield.

Hate to bump a two month old topic but THANK YOU.
No clue why it's been so hard to find an even somewhat technical explanation for this error. Best I got before this was emailing AhnLab with their response of "it means HackShield failed to initialize properly"

I've been trying to fix this damn thing in wine so I can play Mabi again, but ever since the latest version of HackShield (I believe, issued with Alchemist?) I keep getting this error.
No clue how to fix it from here really, but at least it's something to go off of. Thank you.
