Beginning packet editing??

Ok? so I've been trying to do these packet edits (its pure hell) and well, I can edit all the things that have tutorials to them.. ( \o/ yay \o/ ) but how do you guys figure out NEW packet structures?? do you guys somehow just save all of those packets into one file or something and then examine them or something? I would really wanna give something in return to the community but I don't really wanna do anything nooby with pixels... so packets would be nice... I mean how would I start doing this? ALL help is APPRECIATED!!! so please just answer... and keep on topic as much as possible. THANKS IN ADVANCE!!

byte 1 & 2 = packet length
byte 3 & 4 = packet ID

still working on rest of packet structure.

it sem that next bytes hold time & position info, but I'am not sure yet.

chocoman4k posted good info there : [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
