DMA Ban, Source ???

Trying to understand what happened here. I have been closet for the past 2.5 years with dma, never a shadow then first ban, perm and HWID ban. Iri multiple times and took a massive break for the past 5 months. With mw4 coming up I upgraded from my old pre T35 to a t75 and bought high Tier firmware from DMA Kings (so let me know if that was a bad decision). Played like 5 hours legit and a few last night between MP and DMZ (only bots with esp on) then log on today and BOOM BAN. 5 YEAR old non main account and use a combo of xim+makcu, any thoughts? could it be the firmware, ai for ab (which I did use but not even close to raging and I don't use esp in mp) . Trying to understand where this came from...

I already bought a new MB and SSD but trying to understand what to avoid (will play clean for a while) but curious what others are finding

The detection could have come from various sources, including even hardware based detections.

In MAKCU its early versions, MAKCU had a detection vector that consisted of a factory installed capacitor, to bypass/fix the detection vector, you had to break the capacitor. It’s possible they detected that, and the people affected were simply those who didn't break the capacitor (although we've alerted about it several times and including the MAKCU dev aka ihack)

It’s also possible that they detected low quality firmware with poor emulation (in short: free or leaked firmware)

Aside from all that, the banwave may also have been serversided, and Activision is taking advantage of this to boost its PR by saying it's a "DMA" detection.

There's no way to know the real reason behind the banwave, since they've supposedly started "detecting DMA" now, and DMA has a lot of ways to be exploited in terms of detections at first, so it could be any number of things.

You mean DMA kingdom??? It’s not the macku mor the xim, i used them ans have no issues, they are straight permabanning with no shadow to people who are blatantly cheating or have pooled fw, this is why i ask if it is dma kingdom, i got a past with them, but i most likely think it is fw related if you say you closet cheat, at least can you get a refund for what you paid for the game? I know game pass won’t refund you anything but steam/bnet could

As cyber ammo said, there are ppl. with old or stock makcu fw that has triggered some bans in the past. What ever noone can tell the detection vector if its not a common ban indication that hit serveral people.

I'm guessing it could be the firmware because they can still get detected if it's not good enough

Did anyone else using the same firmware get banned around the same time? The timing alone doesn’t prove it was the firmware

Given the leak of what Ricochet is looking for for the DMA, all that remains is to say that those who were banned did not have any firmware installed on the card. Even a firmware written by a child surpasses those controls.

I'm not sure what you mean , all I know is I have a captain dma T75 card that I just got a month ago, or are you referencing something different?

I just want to know what could trigger and if anyone had had similar experiences

He wants to know which device your fw spoofs. Don't tell him. In general its best not to tell others what your emulating.
