Source code isro free for all

Hey, I'm interested, but before going any further, I'd like to know a bit more about your programming background, since we're discussing about a source code of a c++ developed game. Are you a developer yourself? If so, which programming languages do you work with, and how much experience do you have? Are you intending the reverse the joymax binaries or to build it from scratch? I'm asking because I don't get this part " however it won't be a binary compiled isror source code instead it will be the original isro source code"

In my opinion, a project like this is far too complex and sensitive to be introduced in just a few lines. I would've expected a lot more detail, especially about who's behind it.

Perhaps you could start by introducing yourself, telling us a little about your experience, and explaining what you've worked on in the past. Then you could go into more detail about your idea, how you plan to approach it, and what exactly you're hoping to achieve.

That would be a much better starting point, don't you think?

your words and the way you express yourself are really wonderful i truly liked your approach my name is ahmed i am from egypt and i live in egypt i have been working in programming for 15 years and i used to work in programming in my hometown i played silkroad specifically when i was 21 years old after that i left silkroad and now i am back at 38 years old, driven by nostalgia for the old days—those beautiful days when inside silkroad we used to make plans meet new friends, and even hang out in real life outside the game what beautiful days those were

i won't take too much of your time my brother i use all programming tools like c# c++ and python but the program i love and am most passionate about is ghidra regarding the source code project what i meant is that work will be done on the original joymax client not vsro or isror

as i said my brother this topic won't just be a few lines because as i mentioned it's quite sensitive first the tools i created here weren't massive—meaning server maintenance tools. for example i built a python program to connect to the database where you can control everything available on the site here. however, these programs aren't very extensive because my job requires spending a lot of time at work, so i don't actually have a lot of free time to build tools or be active on the site frequently.

regarding the files i was talking about the work will be on the original joymax client everything and all client data will be unpacked and understood based on that, all old and new source codes/files will be analyzed to understand their logic and we will begin testing with tools as for my preferred programming language it's c++ because it is very powerful handles data fast and reads memory efficiently better than any other language alongside many more capabilities

since there are no contributors to the project and i believe no one is interested i will start my journey today

first the client version we will be working on is silkroadonlineglobal_official 1.692

what has been accomplished so far the client connected successfully and is continuously sending heartbeats to the server without interruption

what has been accomplished so far is after several tests a connection to the game process was successfully established. after that the process memory was accessed, and the client login interface was reached up to the username and password field testing is currently ongoing.

Hello Romio,

I am interested, and you know it, we were talking about it last year in private message :o .

To introduce myself, i'm web developer since 9 or 10 years and im trying to learn how reverse work because reversing sro is an old dream propulsed by Nostalgia (played isro in 2006-2010 and on some private server after).

Im not motivated by cash. Only by fun that isro make you feel and to challenge that revsering can bring.

Because i know that you really know what you do and your skills, working with you could really a big step for me and for silkroad community

What is the goal here? You are selecting only specific people to join, which effectively turns this into a private project—not much different from those who hoard source code. Just set up a server, let everyone join and participate, and have each person share the progress they’ve made; that way, things will move much faster.

my brother i won't be like others who are secretive about source code regarding making it available so everyone can contribute to the source code it's still too early for the source code, as we are still at the very beginning of the road what's happening right now are tests on the client connection handling and the handshake link between the server and clientall of this is still in testing i am still at the start and just to keep you updated on what's been accomplished client connection is done login is done character creation inside the game is done and world entry is done up to this point, testing will be done on the game server which is responsible for the world skillsand everything related to the game world once we make sure it's fully completed the source code will be released for development and additions but i have to tell you, i haven't played the official server in 10 years and when i finished and entered the world, just the way it loaded was pure magic what's being worked on right now is adding stats like int, str, dmg, skills, and the rest of the game skills.

interested

I appreciate this, but you should make the development group open to everyone. For instance, I have been reverse-engineering the game server—it’s not finished yet, but I could certainly help.
