TreasureTheif event bug !!

I play on a private server that features a "Treasure Box" event, where boxes appear periodically and players must find and click on them to claim rewards. However, some players simply jump around the map while their accounts automatically collect the boxes—even if there are 20 boxes right next to them, they snatch them all up instantly. I’m not sure if this is a hack or a modification of the server files; does anyone know what they are doing?
