DarkOrbit Remix 3D With GG (2008)

Hey guys,

I was going through my old HDD and I found a long lost version of DOR, the 2008 recreation with GG, it was mentioned in the collection post from Predator or IGnoXX (I don't remember)
Unfortunately I don't have the source, just a compiled program (idk if I changed anything or not).

Thanks, I was looking for this version before, I tried it now and it's a really good game.
Is there a way to increase the resolution? Pressing F4 makes it full screen but the resolution doesn't change. Also, does anyone know how to replace the thin lasers with the thick lasers that first appear in the game?

Does this game require to be copied to a specific location? For me, whenever I try to open it, I get a message "out of memory". Or it has to be configured somehow first?

Since I lost the source code, there is no way to change either of them unfortunately.

Thank you anyway, because I think this is the best version of the DarkOrbit remix.
Okay, so do you have anything else on your hard drive? Single-player working PvP server files from the March 2010 DarkOrbit. New screen and old-style ships; below is a screenshot from a video I recently discovered.

I'm pretty close to a fix, there might be some DLL-s missing in your system, I'll test it and update

So, CleanMem.dll was missing from the files. Also make sure that DirectPlay is enabled in windows.

Still getting the same error. Somehow on my Win 8.1 laptop, this application works. Just my Win 10 is struggling to open the app. I have DirectPlay enabled, even I disabled it and reenabled again. Tried opening it using compatibility with older systems, but still nothing. Microsoft...

Interesting, both exes are working on my SteamDeck with Win11, but on my laptop only the Dark Orbit 2.3.2 - Source.exe is working. Please try both

These are the errors I get for both versions you uploaded. Tried running as an Admin, but no result. No idea what the problem is.

Well, without a source code I can't recompile unfortunately. Maybe it's time to create a remake of this version.
