Official Dark Theme - A Modern Touch

Hey there,

We have all seen many people suggest to redesign EPVP entirely to look modern and have a nicer feel to it. All of those ideas fail supposedly for one of two reasons.

1. Way too complex to implement, the whole site would have to be redesigned.
2. Nobody wanted to lose the classic feel of the forum.

That's where a 'hybrid' approach comes in. Adding a dark theme officially (like the one from [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]) would be an ideal solution. It makes the forum look way nicer, more modern in a way (you'd have to try it to know what I'm talking about), enhancing the UX quite a bit - but without losing the original layout and old school feel the we all want to keep.

What do you guys think about it? I'd be personally more than interested in contributing to this project to make it happen.

Back in 2022, we were told that something “[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]” was coming, but that was also the very last time it was ever mentioned. So I don’t know if it’s still in development, was dropped because it became too complex, or what actually happened. That prolonged uncertainty is what ultimately led me to do it myself.

It's still under work and still needs some time to get released.

Would you say there's any ETA on that? It's been a long long time, some users are already doubting it's ever going to reach the light of day. Publishing a small piece of news about it could be helpful and bring up the hype.

I use firefox and force dark mode, but this is soo cool to see coming, dark mode is my fave.

I agree that an official version would be great... Our eyes would thank us for it...

In any case, I see the good work and good initiative of the user "0x41^4"
