⁃ A few months back I began a journey to create and imitate a game that I grew up playing (like most people that are reading this). When doing so, I spent a lot of money and time creating a private server that people would enjoy. And along the way I met a lot of scammers, fake coders, and one genuine person, Amir. My intention from sharing the game publicly was never to make money from the server; I just wanted to have fun and share it with likeminded players. However, a lesson that I learned while doing so, was that creating and developing a game takes the fun away from playing it. Below you’ll find a link/folder, where I spent almost $5,000 USD, find assets, sources (old/new), find free garments from Berzerk, and coding from Malice. The reasoning for sharing this information publicly is that I’m frustrated with a few people that are intentionally holding back the games capabilities in constraining the development of the private server(s). By posting this link/folder I hope that it would open your eyes to the reality of the restrictions that developers have over us as players, and encourage developers (new/old) to create games for free that would allow for advancement (Paragon Conquer & Zephyr Conquer). These two sources are parallel to one another. It is important to note that they were attempting to sell the source for $2,000 USD, so in response to this sale, I would like to offer it publicly for free because I believe no one should pay for a source (old/new). I would hope this offer will crash the market and stop the pay wall.

Are these includes the open source loader today that are currently using? As the owner of those loader will take a service fee that cost around $50 to change IP to be able to run the source.

As long as you're not willing to add stuff into the source client sided << you should be good to go, plus.. you can't find an open source loader unless it's trash and only for testing :mofo:

No one is limiting the development of private servers all the information is public for the most part. From what I’ve seen in those screenshots and files, there’s nothing particularly unique most of it appears to be recycled or taken from others’ work without proper credit to the original creators.

To be honest, it just comes across as entitlement expecting others to hand everything over on a silver platter. On a related note, a large portion of people trying to sell anything in this scene today are scammers. Over the past 4–5 years, there’s been a noticeable increase in scams, particularly within the Turkish and Egyptian communities. (That’s not to say all Turks or Egyptians are bad just that there are many bad actors among them.)

This isn’t meant to be rude or hateful just a straightforward observation.

From what I’ve seen in those screenshots and files, there’s nothing particularly unique most of it appears to be recycled or taken from others’ work without proper credit to the original creators.

Just for the source alone is more than more than $600 and the averages if you’re Egyptian or from the US I would also say if you could find it anywhere, please link it to me and I’ll give you 20 USD cause I know you wont find anything free.

That is a straight up lie that no one is limiting the development of private servers.
Everyone on GitHub forks the base and makes all their work private.
Spirted is the only one who cared about that kind of stuff, and no one even tried to help his Wiki page or added more to his Comet source after all these years.

There’s information about most patches available on these forums all you need to do is use the search function. I’m not sure why so many people find it difficult to do so. I would understand if you’re referring to the later patches, as not many members here have worked on CO 3.0 publicly.

What I don’t see, however is anyone giving credit to contributors like Ultimation, CptSky, Moh, Sparkie, or Hybrid, to name a few. All I ever hear mentioned is Spirited (Fang) and while he has certainly contributed valuable work, so have the others. It’s disappointing to see their efforts overlooked or unappreciated.

Personally, I’ve helped quite a few people over the years, but usually only those who show genuine effort rather than expecting everything to be handed to them without putting in any work.

Spirited provided good bases to work with and he was an amazing contributor for the community, but you probably never saw anything complete from him (neither did I) as his work is also private.

Ulti, CptSky and others provided sources with stuff implemented. Most algorithm and system stuff in the past came from their contributions. Reading that "Spirited is the only one who cared" gave me physical pain.

Everything you need is already public, and if you're willing to get free stuff to make some quick money then you're part of the reason why the public community got stuck.

CO 3.0 nowadays uses ProtoBuf for most packets and that makes it even easier to get their structure done, since you can easily reverse it. Except for the triple way encryption system, it's now easy to create a CO server with anything you want. You can use LUA for new UI, events and everything, you can configure the client with LUA and some packets to activate and deactivate systems, you can make a classic server removing all the systems you don't like and you dont need to use a 5095 client anymore (ok, the new items are bad af).

What I'm saying is no one cares for new programmers lol.
The only way to get a perfect classic source is to decrypt the binary source from old patches.
It is illegal to have it so you can't find it anymore besides old veterans that saved the files, and that's the only way to find the real valves.
No one wants to download all these sources with virus checks in them all.

How do you start from a base without knowing the monster spawns/item drops/valves/npcs/locations/maps/etc. of the official game?
Without going into the past or remembering a game from 17 years ago?
I understand you say people have 'their' source public, but what if it is not 100% as true to TQ's valves?

I also love when people say, "oh you need to do everything yourself no handouts", when you all legit stole TQ's game/code to make money so don't even what that statement.
All the people who want to have a server to run without donations all get scammed trying to find this info.

Only a few servers have ever successfully replicated TQ’s values what are you even talking about? As for NPCs, locations, and maps, all of that information is publicly available right here on these forums if you actually use the search function. Just because some people charge for their work doesn’t mean you need to pay anyone; everything you need is already here if you take the time to look. I’ve spoken with several newcomers, as you might call them, and none of them had any trouble adjusting to Conquer. The issue isn’t that the necessary tools aren’t available it’s that some people simply don’t put in the effort. Tell me one thing you truly need that isn’t already available and that’s absolutely essential to creating a server.

Why are you guys fighting? Let's just build a guide here on how to run this server. Actually, how we can setup the loader, as this GuardShield.dll cannot change the IP Address where it hidden, and everybody needs to pay around $50-60 to change the ip address.

I wouldn't have gotten as far as I did without contributors like Korvacs, Impulse, Pro4Never, ImmuneOne, and others who shared their work and knowledge with me. Same with the wiki - there wouldn't be one without people like Korvacs (who hosted the previous one after Packet Busters shut down). But that's the point of open source. Others can publicly carry on the work, if they chose to. It's not an obligation or expectation. And I'd be continuing work on the wiki and such if it wasn't for life commitments right now. This is a hobby community - so I expect things to take a back seat in people's lives.

And in terms of my non-released work, I never got very far with private server development. It was always just a personal project for me, so academics and career came first. Most of that was released. Where I thought I could contribute the most was in documentation and server architecture.

I wouldn’t consider it arguing I was simply clarifying the facts in response to some of the statements in this thread as they were a bit misleading. Hopefully the discussion in this thread will be helpful for others in the future who want to create a server or dabble with one.
