Automatically hide the content of closed trade threads

Hey,
sadly multiple trade sections are currently being spammed by the same scammer(s) that open threads and instantly close them so nobody can post feedback.

I would suggest that the content of trade threads automatically gets hidden the moment the Thread gets closed by the creator.

You can report such behaviour and the moderators are going to warn and ban them if they do it multiple times. Same goes for bumping and then closing threads.

Amount of new accounts doing this increased within the last 1-2 Months.

I agree and I think this would be a great addition.

It gets tiring seeing the same threads pop up over and over again by the same scammers. I believe the solution is either to hide the contents upon thread closure or simply make it so that new accounts cannot post anywhere except General unless they have a verified trade for that specific thread.

This would be a nice change. I’ve definitely noticed a spike in scammers doing this over the last month.

It wouldn't be that hard to do with a simple plugin or hook and a small table, but it becomes annoying and unreliable to try and keep it to no DB changes or template-only, which is where things start to get messy.

Agreed.

I agree with the idea; ideally, the content of the initial post should be hidden without deleting it. This would cover cases where moderators give authors a deadline to correct threads if they have any problems.
