How to be safe from rats/viruses?

How do you guys prevent any type of malware when game hacking? Most cheats require you to disable ALL protections to prevent "false positives" but it leaves the pc open to any attack, it's usually easy to spot one like a crypto miner, but how would you detect a rat? How would you remove a kernel level one if windows reinstall can't?

1) You can't do anything, you're trusting your cheat provider, using cheats is a choice.

2) You can't really "spot" them, if the developer was good at hiding extra CPU Usage, keep cycles down, threads, etc, there's not much you can do.

3) Reinstalling Windows will remove it, unless the malware is extremely well developed and spreads itself over other disks.
But now Windows Defender aswell as any other Anti-Virus can easily block that or detect it.
What some malware would do in the past, or even currently is SinkClose exploit.
Do you know that annoying MSI Center App or Armoury Crate that always auto-installs themselves on your fresh new Windows installation?
That's called Windows Platform Binary Table, it's used to inject executables into Windows at boot time, from the firmware.
And they would modify your firmware to replace that executable with their own.
But the majority of motherboard already released a patch for that.

TLDR: The only way to protect from malware is, don't use cheats or untrusted software.

Sorry for the long paragraph but I actually have fun writing this or explaining it :D

I guess you can’t or use trusted providers only for minimal risk

Thank you for the detailed response, I guess then it just comes down to relying on trust, can't have both worlds unfortunately.

Use legit providers with good background or just 2 windows on 1 pc: 1 for cheats / 1 main (this one always will be safe)

best option is to dual boot using 2 disks, a disk with windows where it only has the game u cheat on and thats it.
Nothing perseonal, no logging into accs, nothing at all. I did that with an external hard drive and had win 10 on it for games and cheating only.

Did not even login to my discord app on it lmao, was only browser.

And my main drive that has everything I use and own, I dont recommend having them plugged in the same time, so u can switch between when playing. is it annoying and timetaking? yes very much, but its worth the peace of mind,

Dual booting windows will save u at least 80% of the time even without replacing disks btw, but its an extra measure to be on the safest side.

Remember, u can never be safe from cheats and ratting if u choose this com, be safe and stay smart.

Thank you for the response, the dual booting idea is not bad but yea can be inconvenient if you want to use apps that require logging in while gaming. If the av detections are truly just false-positives, can I just then make exceptions for the folder/loader?

You’re not in 2010 anymore where free hacks came loaded with malware. It’s 2025 now, everything’s paid and that’s where the money comes from.

Just pick a trusted provider and you’ll be fine about malwares.

Free hacks still come loaded with malware that never changed?

Many providers have work arounds for these restrictions and support it now. But as mentioned above each provider is different and many also suggest using a bypass if they don’t support the restrictions. I guess your device would be vulnerable to such attacks but if you think you’ve been ratted then there are usually signs. Reinstall windows and change all passwords will fix it.

Yeah, there aren’t even any real free cheats for Valorant. So if you’re downloading something claiming to be one, it’s pretty obvious it’s just malware.

True, it's mostly github that they use to spread malware infected cheats for free due to SEO and forums taking action too quickly.

just use a provider who has reviews and has been selling for a long time
