🚨 [WIP] New Silkroad Emulator Project – Advanced AI Bot System | Looking for Devs 🚀

06/26/2025 17:40 nyctermoon#1
I'm currently working on rebuilding and fixing all the scattered, half-working Silkroad emulators into one stable, complete emulator.
I'm going through every piece, cleaning up the codebase, fixing bugs, and putting it all together into something that actually works.

If you're curious about the progress or want to talk more about it, feel free to reach out — I'm on Discord at: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
This is a long-term project.

✅ Fixed Alchemy Materials Drop Crash
✅ Sky Movement Fixed
✅ Fixed Static Monsters Select Crash (Locales) (flower, ishade)
✅ Monsters Autowalk and Attack player fixed!
✅ Fixed Champion and Giant speed sync with the animation
i keep working on...

ur tone comes across as either overly idealistic or robotic. In today’s world, your ideas don’t align with reality. Most people are driven by financial gain, and few, if any, would engage in this kind of work altruistically. The top talents in this field typically choose to work independently, not in such collaborative or low-reward setups dont waste your time

Thanks for your input, but you're not required to believe in what I do—nor am I obligated to explain it to you. I work based on vision, skill, and execution, not external validation. If you're not interested, simply step aside. The people who matter will recognize the value. The rest is just noise.

PS: Following tutorials to setup vsro files and make advertising noise doesn’t make you a C++/C#/Reverse Engineer. The ones who truly are don’t need to write it on their profile like a badge—they let their work speak for itself.

Which is the damage formule you're using? because it looks convincing.
I've seen a few but last time I tried didn't worked for me when I compare it with results from game. :notsureif:

for the damage it's srevo defaults i didn't touch yet that, i am busy with "Zelos Emu" i want to see what it have under the hood... but for now i only achieved to compile the source code, it is very old and it realy need an old version of linux... a completly nightmare
i have no ideea what quality this one will bring, i never played, but seems to be decent and allot of ideea can be taken from it.

I understand why translation software is used to provide a common language base. However, it can't be true that you expect someone to be fluent in technical English and then you use ChatGPT to generate a text.

Also, I know absolutely no person who wants to play alone on a server with a few bots. That would already work wonderfully with phBot.

Nobody would say "Experienced Silkroad modders". I've never heard that kind of language used in my 18+ years of Silkroad.

You also contradict yourself on the following two points

- GitHub repo will be shared with active contributors only
- All contributions will be properly credited & licensed under open-source terms

Ah. So the repository will only be shared with active contributors, but all contributions will be licensed under OPEN-SOURCE TERMS? ChatGPT really made a mess of that.

You're welcome to come back with "haters gonna hate", but even Srevolution back then was more advanced than what you've shown. You yourself say your project is based on it, which is probably where the crashes come from. Maybe you should start from scratch and implement the gateway and download server completely first.

i'm not an native english, and i am not here to write you stories, yes chat gpt generated after my native langage explanation, take or leave, ur not required

You might also want to rename your executables. “SRX Revo.exe” doesn't sound much like your own work. But at least there is a wonderful branding when starting the services.

Do you want to tell every critic to leave now? Maybe you should think about it for a change and get the project up and running properly. Publish the repository, create a proper Discord server, write proper contribution guidelines and define proper goals. Then under certain circumstances, and with a minimalistically small chance, it could become something.

It's also a kick in the face for various real developers, not like you - little AI skid, when you ask for a client in other threads, had problems compiling for several weeks and then claim “We're not just cloning the old behavior - we're going beyond.” or “Why Build a New Emulator”... NEW... or "This emulator isn't just a copy - it's a modern platform that enables"

Bro couldn't stand 1-day argument and quit xd

This self-work-love trait isn't really good for both your life, and your work. You need to be ready to hear criticism, calling it "hate" is clearly your way of being defensive towards your work & idea and is kinda childish.

It's always good to critisize especially in your case, because there are obviously many things you have not thought about before developing.

I posted this to try something, to learn from, Silkroad is a difficult project that I'm returning to after years, now as a developer with knowledge that I didn't have before, with achievements already made in VMangos for world of warcraft similar to what I wanted here, the PlayerBots(Server controled bots as companions or pets). If the first messages already people jump on me with hate, I don't need demoralization, I'm aware of what I'm getting into and it was exactly the same the 4 years I worked in vmangos, the team leader at vmangos and the real contributors laughed in my face, but after they saw what I achieved they became my friends. You can search the name "nyctermoon" on google or youtube because it's full of evidence of what I achieved. I'll come back on epvp after I achieve something so the haters don't jump on me anymore. And the fact that I'm looking for developers is an abstraction, I'm totally aware that no one wants to get involved and I'll work 100% alone, the only ones who will come are those who want my work to open their servers after it's stable.

I don't know what the original text was, as you deleted it, but I can only encourage you in your efforts.

It's a complicated task that I had already begun. If you succeed, great! Ignore the negative comments. Just take constructive criticism into account.

Emulating the server is pretty pointless if you dont also re-write the game client to work with, you might as well save urself time by doing a ASM library that does the edits you wish done server-side for vSRO 1.88 files

when it comes to SRO, you are probably better of just creating a brand new game cause the game is pretty much dead

Another emulator gone too soon
