Proposal for Enhanced Security and Moderation in ElitePvP's Trading System

I would like to propose a potential solution to enhance moderation and security within ElitePvP's trading system.

In my opinion, an optional and experimental Middleman system could be implemented, where ElitePvP itself acts as an intermediary by holding the payment until the transaction is successfully completed. Only after confirmation would the funds be released to the seller.

This system is already successfully utilized on other platforms, such as Feevr, among others without replacing the traditional direct trading method, but rather complementing it.

Such a feature would significantly increase security, ensuring that sellers deliver as promised. Additionally, ElitePvP could secure a reasonable commission for providing this middleman service.

In my view, this is a long-overdue improvement that would greatly benefit the community.

No fully against it.
Having epvp staff/mods themself as a middleman not only makes it biased, it also forces more work onto the staff/mods.

The Middleman service offered by users is already enough.

To explain this more precisely: I’m certain it would mean more work initially, especially at the start. But given how often people get scammed here leading to daily support tickets this would actually "reduce" that workload in the long run. It would also act as a barrier, drastically cutting down how often scams happen, simply because trades would regain real value. Right now, we keep seeing new accounts pop up with tons of trades, but… whatever.

Take Feveer’s system as an example: You buy a product from a seller, send the money to the "platform" (not directly), and from there, changes can’t just be made arbitrarily. On Feveer, depending on the seller, you might get 1-3 minor adjustments for free after that, there’s a cost. That’s a layer of security for the seller, too.

Then a deadline is set, and over time, the product is either shown/explained periodically by the seller (upon request or proactively). If it’s completed early, the seller can submit for approval before the deadline but the buyer has to confirm (or deny) completion. So, 99% of the control stays with the buyer&Seller. The entire process stays within the trade system, and if both parties agree, the deal closes.

The advantages here are obvious:
- Support can intervene directly and monitor progress in real time.
- Everything is far easier to track, without waiting for back-and-forth updates.
- It simplifies support, improves accountability, and prevents scams on a large scale.

Frankly, not implementing a system like this especially when epvp could earn a share seems questionable to me. There aren’t any strong counterarguments unless it’s just laziness.

The upsides are overwhelmingly positive, and the effort to manage it would likely be "less" than the current moderation workload for scam tickets.

And if epvp doesn’t want to handle this directly like I said, it could be an optional feature they could also appoint selected "partner" middlemen from the support team to oversee these trades. There are plenty of ways to make it work, and epvp already has a solid, versatile foundation to build on.

To begin with, you keep mentioning "Feveer," but I'm not sure what that refers to. Are you talking about Fiverr? If so, it's important to note that Fiverr complies with various financial regulations necessary for escrow-like services, unlike Epvp.

Members of elitepvpers staff are not allowed to offer any middleman services, so don't be fooled by anyone claiming otherwise.
Why is this?

Because introducing an official middleman service would expose the site to legal and financial liabilities. The current model prohibits staff from acting as middlemen to avoid reputational damage in case of disputes or scams involving staff (this also includes appointing "partners."). It helps protect the site from being held accountable for individual transaction issues.

Thanks for the really good explanation, I wasn't aware of that.
Then it's understandable and of course I take back my view.
And yes, I meant Fiverr.😂

Lol, no worries at all - I wasn’t sure if that’s what you meant either, and I thought I was going crazy trying to look up “Feever” and finding nothing.
