Why do some cheat providers require identity verification? Is it safe to do this verification? What are they using this info for? Could your identity be stolen by doing this verification?

I don't trust these providers, not the first time users their ID card has been leaked or used for malicious things, i avoid them, don't care how long you're on the market on, there are providers who has done bad shit on this.

From what I understand, the reason for ID verification is to keep game devs and anti-cheat devs from downloading their cheat so they can’t detect it as easy

If you’re talking about Proofcore, then yes, it’s safe. You can blur out most of the information on your ID; they mainly just need to verify your photo and birthdate.

The goal is to add an extra layer of security - after all, an anti-cheat developer is less likely to risk handing over their ID to a cheating platform.

I can only vouch for Proofcore, but based on what they require, there’s no real risk of your ID being stolen. Like I said, you’re free to obscure about 90% of the details on the ID.
