What are your Archon Addon thoughts?

For those who haven’t seen it yet, the Archon Addon integrates Warcraft Logs data directly into the in-game tooltip, displaying your parses, progress, and kill count.

I’ve seen a lot of players worried it could fuel unprecedented levels of elitism in PUGs, with some even calling for Blizzard to ban it, which I believe is thoroughly unlikely to happen.

It’s currently available for Retail and Cataclysm, with plans to expand to every other version of the game in the future.

Do you plan on using it? I personally will not.

Might as well; the games are already elitist anyway. Eventually, Blizzard will eliminate the ability for people to log such things, which ultimately kills the game for casual players who make up most of its player base. The mythic+/raiding scene has become cancer to the game as a whole by allowing access to such logs and the ability to track player data and make it public as if to shame players for not being in the top 5% of elite players.

Logs and IO scores have made the game extremely toxic. I understand the competitive aspect of the game is necessary, but it's not the core of what the game should be, nor do I think this was meant to be by the founders of the game. You can make the game challenging and competitive without basically stat-shaming players publically.

It's no wonder players turn to rotations bots and other forms of assistance to keep up with the stat game.

I love watching the PvE scene become even more toxic than PvP.

In my opinion, Blizzard should restrict the use of stat-tracking addons. Most PUGs aren’t going to use Warcraft Logs to vet a sign-up, but they’ll definitely use an addon to form their group in a way that allows them to be carried.
