What got you started and why?

Hello, I am conducting research for a postgraduate paper on the behaviors that lead to cheating in various contexts. In my experience playing Tarkov, I must admit that players who use RADAR are ruining the game. Personally, I would prefer if they used AIM BOT instead. However, for educational purposes only, this inquiry is for a postdoctoral study. Why do you use third party software to gain an advantage?

Well, I understand that using cheats to gain an advantage in games is controversial, and I realize it can negatively impact the experience for others. For me, it's more about selling cheats and experimenting with the limits of the game and seeing what I can achieve. Building a community of cheaters is another thing, not all of us are degen losers.

Overall, most games are just more fun when you have an advantage.

I see, so healthy rationalization helps bend the moral low toward a brighter thought process

Would you be open to an anonymous(NDA)interview? You would be compensated.

From a developers perspective, I think there is a very big addiction part to this whole thing. Most people I know have tried cheating in some sort of way, some get hooked some do not. The constant thrill of winning, makes your dopamine sky rocket. I do not think the idea that people that cheat in video games are insecure losers that need gradification from others holds up for the most part. Those people are a minority in the cheating community.

I have observed that there is a lot of troubled people in the cheating scene. Stuff like personality disorders and other mental illnesses are pretty common here. But worst of all is see is the drug usage in this scene.

100% agree. I started about year 1.5 into playing tarkov, I had that shitty “if you can’t beat them, join them “ mentality but then it became a problem. I got hooked, I got my friends hooked and then I found out some others I was playing with were also hooked. After that, we started doing carry “services” as a side thing I guess you could say. After a while, the rush went away, spent a lot of money on accounts and cheese software and then decided to break away from tarkov for a while. Now 5-6 years later, I’m a legit player just trying to enjoy the game as much as one can.

Now, for anyone who thinks differently; to this day I have no ill will towards the ones who are cheesing in game. I’m not a Gigga Chad wearing end game gear in every raid so I don’t get bugged much lmfaooo

I don't cheat in other games. I just started cheating two days ago and got banned quick. I cheated because I really hate this game and can barely run it on my pc anyways. This was my first time playing again in about 2 years.I was an alpha player and the game just sucks now IMO.
