Is it possible to clean a file from malware

Hi all,

Because there is game i really like and the original server went down quite some time ago, i would like to run my own server with that game. I found the serverfiles, but it seems a file i need is infected with malware (Win32/Skeeyah.A). Is it possible to clean the file itself?

It also could be a false positive, but how to be sure?

First of all:
Check if it's a False - Positive
- Use VirusTotal: Upload the file to ([Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]). This site scans your file with multiple antivirus programs to see if it's really infected.

If the File is Infected
- Manual Cleaning: Only if you're experienced, use tools like IDA Pro or a hex editor to remove the malware manually. Based on your question, I assume that you are not so much familiar with this.

Secure Option - Sandbox Testing:
- If you are familiar with handling malware, run the cleaned file in a sandbox environment or a virtual machine to ensure it’s safe.

Conclusion
I would advise you not to download it, as (Win32/Skeeyah.A) can cause a lot of damage on your Operating system.
