#Edit 771 views and 8 thanks... Hi well this is my first guide so let me know what you think of it and comment to make mine better! I made this guide for others who are also trying to make a private server and having no luck!

For this you are gonna need the following:
AppServ:
[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
Navicat MySQL(Or xampp):
Navicat [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
Xampp [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
Conquer 5165 Source:
[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
5165 Client(your game):

GM/PM commands: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

0.5. If you are not good with directions i will have a video on this at the end of the post (COMING SOON).
1. After downloading everything and extracting to your desktop, take the contents of the fixed source(Which is a folder) and place it into your C: drive. (To acres this you must go to start>Computer>C: )
Place it in there.

2. Open OldCODB and find Config. Depending what you want to use your gonna put the IP here. If you wanna use your gateway ip go to start>run>cmd>Type in "ipconfig" Without the quotes. Then you will see under(Depending on what you are using, wireless or Ethernet) you will see Default Gateway. Then put that number where it says ip under config. If you want to use your own ip, go [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] and you will see your ip. If you want to use that put that under Config. Now if you want to use Hamachi, you need to download Hamachi and run it. It will ask you for a name. Put what ever you want it can be your conquer online private server name, your dogs name, it do not matter. After you do that you will see a number for example 5.141.240.237. That is your Hamachi ip. You can use that if you want also.

3. I will teach you how to set up appserv here. You wanna keep hitting next and i agree till you get to the part where you have to put in a servername and email. For the server name you MUST put in localhost. If you do not put in localhost it will not work. Now you put in your email and hit next. Now you must put in a password i would recommend you use 123. You need this password later. It is up to you to put your password it do not matter what it is as long as you can remember it. Then hit next. Then it will do a download then just hit finish. You want those programs to come up.(You will not see them)

4. Okay now you need to open up Navicat. Once its open on the top left side you will see Connection click it. Now for the server name put in localhost(if a thing comes down and asks you Mysql or PostgreSql, Pick Mysql.) Now jump down to password and type in the password you used for appserv or xampps(i do not know how to use xampps so your on your own on that.) After that click OK. Now double click localhost. then it should turn green. then just minimize it.

5. Now that you got those steps completed you will be done shortly. Now open up your client. Mine happens to be DarksideCO. Look for the file that says Server. Open that and do CTRL+F and type in 101. You should see the server name which says DarkSideCO. Go to the Ip and erase it. Now put in what ever you put in for step number 2. If you want you can change The name DarksideCO to your name of the server.

6. Now go back to your C: drive. (Start>Computer>C: ) and open up Rikardo updated. Now you might see many files look for the one that says bin. The folders in order go bin>Debug. Then scroll down till you see NewestCoserver.exe. Run it and a command script pops up.(you need to run this at all times when trying to use the server. Lets says its the servers heart, without the heart it can not live got it?) Now to create a account type in "/newacc username password" Now where it says username you put the username you want to use. Where it says password put your password. No quotes either. To make a [GM]/[PM] you need to put "/newacc username password [GM] or [PM]. Here is an example, /newacc test 123 [PM]. Keep the command prompt running.

7 and final step. Now you want to go into your client. Look for conquer.exe. DO NOT RUN THE PLAY.EXE IT WILL NOT WORK. When you run your conquer.exe. it will pop up and you have to sign in and you will log in and have a happy time.

This seems like a pretty sound guide. Good Work.

Although, some pictures would be nice.
Also, you should take all of the GM/PM commands and put them into a .txt file, then upload that.

Edit# But, why do you need appserv navicat and xampp? you're not doing anything with them... :S

I looked in the source, it has the GM commands in a txt file already. :P

I got it to work, I just quieried in the database file. (C:\oldCODB\database.sql)
And made sure that the user and pass inside of config.ini was the same as the user and pass i set for appserv when i installed it.

Wait your confusing me did my guide work?
04/05/2010 03:45 flaMe~#8
Yes, for the most part. You just didn't tell your readers to quiery in the database.

And they only need to download one of the 3 database management tools listed above. (I can ensure that appserv works).
