After several years of development, weeks of debugging and bug fixing, we are finally confident to announce you the best Dragonica server to date, ReDragonica.
What is ReDragonica ?
ReDragonica is a project conducted by an ambitious team of developers to modernize Dragonica to today’s game graphics standards. The game engine has been heavily modded to achieve that objective.
Besides that, thanks to all players who have followed this project for multiple years now. We were adding/modifying suggestions/features based on their feedback. This project is community-driven. Feedbacks and suggestions were a key part of the project.

- Texture upscaling :
Thanks to the rework in the file loading system and AI assistance, ReDragonica is offering outstanding graphics with never-before-seen ultra-detailed textures.
Post-processing effects :
New post processing effects such as bloom, antialiasing and depth of field were added, which will further improve the game’s look.
Shadows :
Shadows have been added to nearly all Dragonica maps. A lot of development time was devoted to the shadows to minimize their impact on the overall game performance.

Day and night cycle :
Dawn, day, dusk and night moods have been added to provide more comfort to Dragonica players and to allow them to play on dark maps if they wish.

Particles :
To improve the damage feedback, many spells will now show a particle upon hitting an ennemy. The newly added particles are also improving the overall visual rendering.

- New dash chain combos

New chain combos have been added to the Warrior class, with 4 for the « Knight » and 3 for the « Gladiator ». Since these classes already have chain combos, it has been decided that they can only be activated after a dash attack, hence they are referred to as such.
Hitboxes improvements
Many improvements have been made to the hitboxes of different spells. Now, the hitboxes correspond much better to the spells and allow you to connect hits more easily.
Reworked spells

Click Here To Register...]Some spells lacked the necessary potential or interest to become viable through value changes alone, so they were reworked into new and more usable and fun abilities. For example, the « Bloody Roar» spell for the « Myrmidon » class was changed so that it no longer decreases the player’s HP below 25%. Another example is the ability to input a direction to throw the « Sonic Boom » projectile for the « Rogue » class. More than 20 spells have been reworked and we hope you will enjoy these as much as we enjoyed making them.
New Spells
New spells have been added to the game to appeal to both PvE and PvP players, and to fill gaps in the gameplay for certain classes that were not as enjoyable to play. Over ten new spells have been included in the game to enhance the overall gameplay experience
Balance changes
Most of the spells in the game have undergone changes, where the effect remains the same, but the damage or cooldown may have been increased or decreased. These changes are usually buffs, but in some cases, certain spells have been nerfed, such as the « Sword Dance » spell for the Warrior class where the spell will no longer damage the enemy if the sword projectile doesn’t collide with them.
This balance change was implemented to make every class viable for both PvP and PvE content, so players are encouraged to choose the class that they like, knowing that it will be as good as any other class.

- Improving performance was a major focus during the development of ReDragonica. To achieve this level of performance, the following had to be done:
- Optimize spell scripts
- Optimize the Gamebryo game engine
- Optimize the PhysX physics engine
- Optimize map loading
- Optimize models
- Optimize maps themselves
This allowed us to achieve up to 2x/3x the FPS obtained in any other Dragonica client. The very high settings were used for ReDragonica. It is possible to get even more FPS by lowering graphics settings.
Quality of Life

- Languages
[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]The integration of different languages was a major challenge for us.
The ReDragonica client now supports 10 languages, English, French, German, Portuguese (only quests, dialogs and items are translated for now), Vietnamese, Thai, Russian, Chinese Traditional and Simplified and Korean.
Players can now create character names using the language of their choice.
We also remade the market from scratch in order to support multilanguage, which means players can now look for items in their native language without getting results that would correspond to other languages.
For instance if I’m looking for “Ame” with a french client, the game will not display “Broken Shoulder Ornament Piece” since it is translated in french as such “Ornement d’épaulière cassée”.
Market Rework
[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]The market has been reworked, search and sort filters have been added. Players can now sort results by price or popularity. The default sort filter being used is the popularity one.
In addition to the new search and sort filters, filters for cash items and pets have also been added to make it easier to find specific items such as pets and eggs.
Additionally, the number of items displayed per page has been increased from 10 to 50, making it more efficient to search for items.
Lastly, a button has been added that automatically retrieves all gold from sold items, instead of requiring players to click on each item individually.
Costume Tab

Thanks to the new costume tab. The costume tab allows players to add any cash item on top of their current gear, providing a visual change to the character without affecting gameplay or stats. Players can now enjoy the best of both worlds, looking cool while dealing massive damage.
Two pages inventory
[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]A new 2-page inventory system has been added that doubles the maximum inventory size. The inventory expansion can be obtained through in-game purchases or by completing certain gameplay tasks, such as job change quest.
Left clicking

Left-clicking on a player message menu has also been updated, it now offers three new features. The first feature is « open shop », which, as the name suggests, opens the market of that player.
The second feature, « send mail », opens the mail menu with the player’s name pre-filled, and the third feature « send large mail » also opens the mail menu but with the large mail option selected.
Fast-X

Click Here To Register...]The inconvenience of having to manually press the X button when using a Magician class, causing strain on both the hand and keyboard, is well-known. In response, a fast-X option has been added to the skill tree in the chain combo tab. Activating this option will make the X attacks automatic, relieving the strain on the hand and keyboard.
Daily Quests

Daily quests can sometimes be tedious to complete, which is why measures have been taken to make them more enjoyable. Players can now take on three daily quests at once, rather than just one.

Additionally, daily quests can be taken from any location by opening the quest journal, a new tab has been added that contains all daily quests making it easier than ever before to complete them.
Finally, many daily quests have been made quicker to finish.
The quick quest selection menu

The quick quest selection menu has been redesigned. It is now possible to filter quests by their types, and quests that can be completed in the current zone are displayed first.
Quest limit

The quest limit has been changed. It is now possible to take up to 5 scenario quests and up to 20 for other type of quests.
Minimap

Modifications have been made to the minimap, including its redesign. The map now indicates the position of the monster to be killed for the quest in a color different from the other monsters
Color picker for chatbox and UI

A color picker has been created that can help you choose the color you want for the chat and the UI. This is of course, one of the use of this color picker.
Chatbox
[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]The chatbox has been redesigned to allow the player to resize it as desired, providing more comfortable reading.
To do this, simply hold down the resize button and move the cursor until you have the appropriate size.
Pets
[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]All pets have been improved so that they are now able to grab items from a greater distance and in greater quantities, even if they do not possess the « This is Mine! » passive skill.
PVP Improvements
[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]the room creation menu has been entirely redesigned, featuring more options than ever before, as well as the addition of 9 new maps.

Finally, many major bugs in the PvP mode have been fixed, including the infamous ninja transformation bug that caused significant lag during matches against Ninja players.
Additionally, many issues with out-of-sync situations caused by spells such as « Judge Dread », « Wrath of Earth », « Seven », « Tornado », among others, where players would see their opponent thrown in the air immediately, while the opponent would see it much later, have been fixed.
Other synchronization issues, where players would see their opponent teleport after using a spell if they held a direction key without inputting a new direction until they touched the ground, with spells such as « Seven », « Tesla Coil », « Meteor Fall », « Upper Screwdriver », among others, have also been resolved.
The bug where « Fishing Claws » and the « Wire Action » would make the enemy invulnerable once caught without any reason, has been fixed, allowing players to properly hit their targets even if they are stunned.
Lastly, the bug where players would see their opponent frozen, stunned, or electrified at the start of a new PvP round is also fixed.
Other notable QoL improvements - The ability to swap skill bars while in “no HUD” mode (F10 mode) has been added.
- A shortcut key (T) has been added to quickly switch between chain combo mode and normal combo mode.
- A shortcut key (` or ² for French layout keyboards) has been added to quickly mount/dismount a pet.
- The speed of pets has been greatly improved, with « Ride! » at level 1 having a movement speed of 400 and reaching 500 at maximum level.
- The repair menu now automatically selects « Repair all items equipped » instead of « Repair individually ».

- Balanced PvP mode

All you need to access this system is to reach level 20 and complete the first job change quest. Once this is done, players will have access to a new skill tree that is exclusively for use in PvP with the balanced mode enabled.

A level 20 character can learn a level 60 skill without completing the second job change. Additionally, after completing the first job change, a player at level 20 will be awarded 9000 skill points. However, no additional skill points can be earned by leveling up or by using a scroll obtained from daily missions.
In regards to monster cards that can improve skills beyond level 5, it should be noted that in the PvP skill tree, skills that are level 6 or higher cannot be learned. Furthermore, character stats in balanced PvP mode are normalized, which means that even if a player has better gear than their opponent, they will deal the same amount of damage and have the same amount of HP as their opponent.
Character customization

Click Here To Register...]Due to the lack of customization in Dragonica, we have decided to dedicate time and effort to improving character customization. The first step was to create an item that allows for changing hair color. This system was then integrated into character creation.

Changing eye colors is also planned and still in development.
Daily quests

Daily quests will give you rewards that can be traded against many resources which will help you tremendously during your time in Dragotaka. Additionally, the experience provided by daily quests has been increased.
Lastly, players can now obtain monster cards that improve skills beyond level 5 from the NPC Andre in exchange for Monster Card coins, which are rewarded for completing Andre’s daily missions.
Heroic and normal quests

Heroic and normal quests from level 40 and above will reward you with respectively 2 and 1 « Old Coin » which can be traded to Adelio the bounty hunter for many useful items, so make sure to do as many quests as possible !
Melting
A new mechanic called « Melting » has been added. It functions similarly to disassembling, but instead of providing souls, it rewards players with armor and weapon enchant dust. The level of the item directly correlates to the amount of dust given.

Pity Timer
Pity Timer is a new game mechanic added that guarantee success on enchanting and soulcrafting after a set amount of failures, this was done to ensure that players are rewarded for their persistence and helps prevent them from experiencing long streaks of bad luck.

Photo Mode
The most sharp eyed of you might have noticed it, the majority of the screenshots shown were taken using the new Photo Mode, that’s right a fully fledged Photo Mode has been added to ReDragonica, currently it supports depth of field settings, custom filters (black and white, bleach, sepia, negative and red isolation) with filter settings, FoV settings and a FreeCam so you can take the perfect shot at perfect angle!

What’s next ?
ReDragonica is on OpenBeta since the beginning of march 2023, meaning that anyone can download and try the game. During the OpenBeta, the experience rate has been multiplied by 5.
Those who have played during the beta get to keep their character name and hairstyle / face, however the progression will be wiped.
Players who reached the level 40 will be rewarded a chic anniversary costume (without stats).
Please note that the beta will end the 21/05/2023 in order to prepare the server for the launch.

The official launch date will occur on 25/05/2023, ReDragonica will be released with the New Origin expansion as the end game.
Other expansions will come later once we have finished and added some of the new features planned.
