Those questions exist mainly for the external software since it's invite only. However, doesn't hurt to answer them for DMA since we like to know our customers at least a little bit to make sure everything will work out in terms of actually using the product. No, this is not a scam, there are free trials for a reason

Only reason they'd get rejected is if the form in the ticket isn't filled out properly

Starting the software is also much faster now and there's less errors in general :)
