5018

Does anyone remember if there was a publicly released source that was on patch 5018. I could have sworn that there was one some where. If there is one could someone possible give me the link?

To my knowledge, no.

But to make one shouldn't be hard, all you need is to add in the Blowfish stuff to a 5016/5017 source.. =d

Really, its still gonna be exactly the same as a 5017. Just on a 5018 client.

No, 5018 is when the new blowfish cryption and the DH-Key exchange were brought it, and it took up until 5095 (there abouts) to crack it, so no one bothered with 5018, since the main difference was the addition of the encryption.

So 5017 was where all of the PServers stopped for a long time, untill the cryption was released later.

Oh its not that i wanted to have a 5018 source, its just i wanted to see if it was different lol.

Well the only main difference i think was the cryption change, not alot more than that, perhaps some lame quest idk lol, nothing major anyway.

I just remembered what i wanted to know that for. I was gonna see if it was using hybridsocket because i was lookin to update hybrids source but don't know how to add in the encryption because its in the .dll. I'm sure if i had the time and didn't get frustrated easily i could do it. Any advice?

See how its done in other sources and adapt it to your own design, and read up on Blowfish and DH-Key Exchange, you can easily find topics on both using google, it'll help you understand whats happening which is what hinders alot of people.

Alright, will do. Any source you know of off the top of your head that uses hybrid sockets?

That specifically use hybirds? I dont think any do to be honest lol.

Yeah, considering you had it all handed to you on a plate in completely working fashion (Thanks Andy, gg).

Where as a few and a minority of people actually had to come up with their own implementation from unknownone's information.

I'm not saying you couldn't do it on your own, just you pretty much can't prove that you could anymore.
