What do you think about to open a discussion about "signature events" iside server advertising topics?
Due to the flood of signature posts with basically no useful content, it is very hard to open or follow any discussion on certain servers. It is quite useless to add an answer with productive comments, because you have to browse thru several "signature posts", before you can find the next useful answer.
Like that, you will have a hard time to open a real discussion and everything will be outsourced to discord servers or something else.
I've also seen many of such users with just 1 or two posts in general. You can assume that the accounts were created to write one answer only and will not be used afterwards. In theory you could also create many accounts to create multiple "signature posts" for a specific server.
Proposal to prevent signature spam:
- consider all posts without real content as spam (usually it is charname only) (hard)
- allow such events during "startup only" to create some activity
- allow such events only for a certain maximum time and with cooldown (e.g. 5 days + 2 month CD)
- allow "bump events" only with content e.g. screenshot
Maybe it will help to improve the quality inside the server advertising section.
