Fishing bot

I'd be interested in buying a fishing bot or somekind of automation tool for fishing, or if there's already available solution, information, where it's available from.

Is fishing even worth automating? The minigame is client sided and it's fairly easy to cheat on, there's even a way to completely skip it.

Edit:

I made a tool that patches the fishing minigame so that it's impossible to lose. You still need to cast and hook manually. It requires .NET 6 runtime and you're supposed to run it after starting the game. Have fun!

i tryed the fishing bot, started the bot after starting gw2, but it does nothing. still lost all my fish

It's still working for me after the last update. It's supposed to make the green fish always follow the yellow rod instead of going randomly left and right.

You could try running the fishing.exe in powershell or command prompt to see if any errors show up. If I had to guess you might be missing .NET 6 runtime which is needed to run it. If you're running the game as administrator then you need to have fishing.exe also as administrator.

The same patch could be also done in cheat engine scripts. AOB scan for "F3 0F 58 41 14 0F 2F C7 F3 0F 11 41 14 76"+02 and patch with "10 41 18". It should change the instruction the following way:

Where [rcx+14h] is the position of the green fish and [rcx+18h] is the position of the yellow fishing rod. xmm0 is used to update the fish position.

Thank you, it works perfect, and yes fishing is acutally profitable in game.

I'd like to thank you for this! It's amazing. People just have to make sure to download .net 6 first, It wasn't opening before, but it worked when I downloaded it

I'm getting Unhandled exception. System.Exception: fishPattern failed Installed .NET 6 runtime (console and app) and ran as administrator.

Edit: GW2 cannot be opened from Launchbuddy.

Managed to run it under Proton on my Steam Deck and it works flawlessly.

caught perfectly, but the mini game is always in the center and the character does not move the fishing rod, which is very suspicious

I made one overnight and it works perfectly. I didn't yet implement equipment change though. So you have to stay at 1 location and fish the whole time. It doesn't change anything on your running gw2 or pc.

Is there still interest? I don't know if it is legal to publish bots on github

how did you do it, mem read or ocr? the thing about fishing is its mostly useless as to make any decent gph you have to sail your boat from node to node.

Image recognition.

Making it travel by itself and doing everything, i would also need just 1 day, using pytorch, screenshots and playing for 3 hours as input data. But I have atm no interest in doing so for a dead game.

I just did my stationary one to test how easy it is.
It s making relatively ok gph. You get a lot of 1g scrap, blue filets from white fish are high because of the bait people buy with it and you get amber from world fish achievement.

Thats a nice job, I thought about doing it with ocr, I did it with mem reads, but ocr makes it even better as you dont need to update stuff when a patch hits. Just curious about how you would get the boat to navigate with ocr? I did a waypoint system back in the day for WoW, but that was also reading mem, just character pos + heading and iterate obj list to scan for enemies, once an enemy was killed it would rejoin back to the waypoint, it worked really well in open fields like mulgore, but you could get stuck on fences and shit in other areas. For GW2 you could probably either use a navmesh or a waypoint system easily but I too cba for same reasons you say, just not worth it in this game. Really interested in your idea of navigating a boat with only OCR though :)

It is not OCR. There are Youtube Tutorials, you can see how somebody makes something similar for Fall Guys. You just go full AI control plus image recognition and mouse clicks if needed.


I improved mine today, now it never stops when Map reloads or anything would happen.

For sure somebody could just make a minimap traveling with keyboard press and acceleration depending on minimal distances. Also image recognition wise. Because you can press 6 to see Fish spots, which can then be targeted. Or hardcode a path. Or just set 600 seconds sleep for next ones. In my case I ll probably now just add equipment change, so every 600 seconds or when it sees the hole, it changes the bait to the appropriate one. Makes 18 fish from hole in an hour additionally to all the other things and is just a nobrainer
