Slight Login Issue, Advice? (9Desciple)

Hey guys, I'm currently trying to get my 9desciple working.
As of the moment ive got the hefei fix, and did my hosts file correctly as far as i know.
And i still seem to be getting "Cannot Connect To Game Server"
I can connect normally, without the hefei fix and just the english patch.

The order i start things up is;
9Desciple/launcher/cancelpatch/press start.
Dunno if the way im launching has something to do with it? or maybe someone could help me find the problem and maybe fix it.

I have the right client *i can play without desciple and hefei patch*
I have .net Framework 3.5

Just so we can rule out those possibitys. So, any ideas guys? It'd help a TON!

First of all there's no need to bump your thread by double posting!
The ones that help know if a decent thread to reply to is pending!
So merge those posts.

The way you stated two types of start-up methods confuses me a bit in what exactly you are asking help for.

Try this for now and report back:

• Apply Patch72 (Hefei fix)
• Do not start 9Disciple at all during this test
• Launch CLTB/Cancel Update/Start

You should be presented with no servers to choose from - That's good.

Now start 9Disciple and refresh the server list, the servers should show.

If not report back more information.

But that all worked exactly as you said, but when i hit "Connect" i get;

Connecting to login server (counting down to 30)
Connecting to game server then i time out, and the connection aborts.


I meant, when i hit connect at the login screen, i get whats stated above. and i'm sorry for any confusion, i worded it how i'd understand.

If you want a screenshot, or anything that would aid you in understanding it's no problem at all.

Yeah I have this problem most times, but can usually fix it within a minute or less.

What I usually do is:

• Check processes and make sure only one instance of 9Disciple is running, also make sure no other 9DVN hacks are still running in the processes as well that you may have launched previously.
• Reboot your PC, although the above step will do the trick 99.9% of the time.

I almost always close all 9DVN hacks down in the Task Managers Process Tab, because they don't seem to always close down fully.

Process of elimination:

• Is my server down?
  Check Server Statuses or log into a different server
• Is the map down my Character is currently on?
  Log a different Character on a different map

Give those a go mate!

My map etc is fine, and servers up [Server 5]
I connected to the Game Server faster those few times because i did actually have 2 9desciples running without me noticing to you where dead on about that!

9desciples the only hack ive actually ran, i have dupe etc but i was saving that til i got further ingame, since i only started today :D.

Can you do me a favour and paste me the Ip's in your Hosts file? Because im sure mine's is correct but that's the only thing i can think of that would actually effect connecting and stuff.

If it gives away personal information its no problem to leave it mate!

I'm sure your hosts are correct and has nothing to do with your current problem, but here you go.

Yeah thats how mine are so no worries, just double checking!
So any further idea's or should i just experiment?

Just keep closing down 9Disciple in Processes and restart 9Disciple, press connect again.
If the 'User Already Online' message pops up then keep spamming 'Connect' until you login.

Otherwise at this point I've ran out of idea's.

How long does it usually take you to connect with 9des?
Without the hefei fix i connect almost instantaniously but with the patch applied i havnt even been ingame yet!
I dont see how its not connecting to be honest because everythings logically right that would make the ninedragons.exe connect to the host, so its probobly something stupid we've overlooked.

If it helps I usually have this problem if there's lag between 9Disciple and the server. 9Disciple generates a bit of lag on its' own, especially if you're on a slower PC (but not always!), which doesn't help but isn't avoidable. Hefei Fix is not the cause of the problem, as it is the official client with only server address changed.

GoodOldJase's advice is what most of us have to do from time to time.

Actually his advice was spot on, after fidling around and stuff, to connect with 9desciple i have to make my client freeze for 1~5 seconds before it takes me to the character screen, which i do by flashing my itunes.
Then it seems to work spot on, havnt explored the dupe or refine or even autohunt yet,and im clueless as to the autolevel but the quests are going great so thanks so much guys, FINALY CRACKED IT :D.
