Hardware based Cheating

Howdy. Is there someone who can actually explain how hardware cheating works? I know you have like a DMA (whatever that means), a raspberry pi and so on. But how does it work? What does the things do? How do you cheat just because you got some hardware plugged in? I'm a beginner. Just curious. And how is that detectable if it doesn't interfer with the game memory at all?

Hardware cheats are almost impossible to trace. Many of them are quite legal, for example there are mice and keyboards that support macros. You can set up your mouse so that it constantly presses some buttons in the game and this simplifies the process.

People often use an Arduino as a virtual mouse input device. Using this with a host shield to spoof it, you can create undetected mouse input, and thus create an undetected color / pixel aimbot for many games. :bandit:
