First of all, please leave a THANKS! I Wasted more than an hour putting this tutorial together.

Hey guys, I decided to make a small tutorial on how to use the timeline animation in Photoshop CS4. You can do this in other versions like cs3, cs2 (not sure).

First of all, make sure you have the extended version of photoshop cs4, cs3, or cs2.

Here is what we are going to be making:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

Ok so first of all, open up photoshop, and make a new project. Use this setup:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

Then, go to Window> and select Animation, if you haven't so yet:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

A window will appear, on the bottom. Most likely, you should be in frame animation mode right now. To switch to Timeline animation, click this:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...][Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

Now you should be, in timeline animation mode. Ok so you are ready to start.

1. Get a picture of google, something dark. If you can find one, use this one: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] (were going to be using the top half of this picture)

2. Open the picture in photoshop, copy the whole picture. Then go into our project, and paste it in there. Then resize it, move it, to make it look something like this:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

3. Then take the text tool, and type in whatever you want. Or just type in "TUTORIAL". I used the font called "Atari Kids". Get it from here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
And the size should be on 35. Center it, it should look something like this:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

4. Now right click on the text layer and click Blending Options.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

5. Now use this settings:
[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

It should look something like this:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

6. Now move the text all the way to the left until you can't see it at all:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

7. Now go to your timeline animation, and click the arrow next to the text:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

8. Then, under the text, you should find something saying "Position". And the left of it, there should be a timer. Click on it!

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

A yellow mark should appear:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

9. Now after you got that, take the Time Indicator ([Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]) and move it to about between 00 and 15f.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

10. Then take the text, and move it just a little to the left of the middle.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

You should get another marker.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

11. Then move the time indicator ([Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]) to about between 15f and 02:00f.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

12. Then move the text, slightly more to the right of the middle:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

You should get a third marker.

13. Now, move the time indicator ([Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]), to 02:00f.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

14. Move the text, all the way to right until you can't see it anymore.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

And the forth marker should appear.

15. Now the last part, is to move the time indicator ([Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]), all the way to the beginning, and click play and watch your animation.

You should have something like this:
[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

Now to save it, just click on File>Save for Web and Devices. There you can preview your animation in a web browser. If if you like it, save it as GIF. Your Done!

Nice, but you don't put the text all the way to the left and all the way to the right, so you can't see the text at all.
I put it out a little on the tutorial and put a red arrow to represent or show you that i'm moving it.

On yours it beggins at the letter "L" at the left.
And stops at the end at the letter "T" and scrolls back and stops at "L" again. Move it a little more to the left.

Maybe because you don't have Extended version of photoshop?

You're looping takes a while. You can fix it by doing this:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

Oh and also, pick up your text a lil more up. Then move it using CTRL+Arrow Key

How to get it? Do I have to un-install my previous PS and download the extended one?

Yes.

PS: Before you uninstall it and such, check my tutorial. I forgot to add an image to where you switch to Timeline animation. If you have a button like that. Then no reinstalling needed. If not then proceed to downloading the extended version.

No, he can't.
At least not in this forum. Warez are not allowed, not under any circumstances. He might give you a link where to buy the extended version. Anything that has something to do with warez will result in an infraction/ban.
I hope I made myself clear.

Greetings
Uzgarel =)

Yes I know I can't post warez. But if you want it, then just look up the download on google or youtube, pretty sure you'll find tons of links.

Ok, Ill search it

Whats the difference between the extended and not extended one?
