Hi.

Ok, so I was searching though my old CDs and found a CD with a copy of rappelz epic 3 game folder question is can anyone do anything good with this?

Like a good private server for the community?
Is it possible at this point?

This is not BS...I really loved to play epic 3 again!!!
Someone/team good enough should take on this project.

Probably be a good idea to move this to the private server section, so that is what I am going to do.

As discussed in [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] it is almost impossible (or really hard) to create a pre-epic 5 server, because of the lack of epic 3/4 server files. You have to setup a epic5+ server and down-grade it to epic 3/4 with the memory of all old skills and mechanics.
I don`t think an epic 3 client will help a lot (I have the clients of epic 2-4 too :)).

There was a try to make an [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] based on epic 4 but I think the project was cancelled because of legal issues.

No it wasn't.
The source code is still openly available on [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] and the game is playable pretty well. I'd argue that the emulator was like 80% done or so, most missing stuff being bugfixes or stuff like sieges (which weren't implemented yet).
Technically the project is neither cancelled nor abandonded, but I personally lost interest in the project due to the lack of interest from the community.
If anyone wants to pick up the project, feel free to do so, it's open source after all.

Thanks for the clarification. Sorry, it was not my intention to spread fake News, it was just my bad memories ;). Unfortunately there is no running epic3/4 server and I think the Epic 3 folder will not help much.

You will find an Epic 5.2 server file release in there.

The stability will depend on your ability to match a client to the server files.
