u save the packets u want to resend, which when u resend it u will make your character perform the same action again, beware though, packet editing can get ur acc banned or bot jailed

how does tq know your sending packets?
02/20/2006 18:57 blueshad0vv#4
it can tell if an error occurs or not on the server

Basicly, a packet is a string (letters & numbers) send between client and server, to cummunicate with eachother.

simple example:

You want to step one space down...

Your client sends a packet with your current possition, and the possition your moving to. The server recieves this information, and sends it to anyone on the same screen as you...

Dephending on the packet logger you downloaded, it will work or not... Since the conquerpackets are encrypted. As this encryption "varies", you cant simply decode it like that.

Shortsaid, Packets are the basic foundation for any mmorpg, there are the way your client communicates with the game server. You send data to the server, server recieves, and sends data back to you etc etc

so say if i wanted to tell the server i had 10million silvers to buy an item, would i get it if i sent a packet to tell the server this?

It all depends on how the server interprets your packet.

Packet editing requires some logic, and some knowledge on how it works.

But put simply. If you send to the server that you had 10 million silver, that's basically you telling it how much you have, doesn't mean it will believe you, as the server already knows how much you have. Some packets are [ack] packet or confirmation packets, some packets are [syn] packets, or synchronizing packets, some packets are just plain [data] packets or information packets. The server really ultimately decides what to do with the packets you send it. Servers tend to have rules for each packet type, and what they enforce upon them. The best way to find out what the server does with each packet is to do Trial-and-Error.

I personally say, if your going to packet edit, test it with a throw away character, since if you send a malformed packet, and keep doing so, CO may interpret you as a bot, and send you to Bot Jail, or just Ban the account.

btw, no, if you sent the server you had 10m in cash, you will not recieve 10m in cash.

if the server wouldnt know your amount of money, yes it would work..

The stuff that is checked (and thus, based) at the server is also called. if this thing is also putted at the clientside, it is mostly to prevent unnesicery data transfer (if the client says "you cant do that!" the server doesnt need to check that, but if you change the client so it says "okey lets check if server agrees" you might still have the problem)..
