What happened, WeMade has fully purchased Joymax?

I'm pretty sure this means more P2W and the death of SRO

WeMade has owned Joymax since 2011.

But today's change is interesting because:
- The old Joymax CEO has been replaced with a new one (this will take place after the name change April 1st)

- Wemade Max (the new name of Joymax) will turn into a dedicated Silkroad team. According to this (Google Translated): "In addition, Wemade Max has been reorganized into a dedicated development team for <Silk Road Online>, focusing on the online game development business"

Wow...All I can do is hope for the best.

Edit: Hold up a second.

I am back and I've just read it in my waters about the future of this game :

-They will milk it for 3-4-5-6 more years until they (they players) get to cap 140.
-New servers will pop up, you know the drill : they start at 90 and slowly progress.
-The same pay2win if not more.
-Out of nowhere when we had thought the game was dead we'll probably get cap 145 or 150 or some kind of "rebirth" system to start from 0. Or some kind of system that requires you to grind the wallet out of you.
-New areas, new monsters, new everything. (Don't get your hopes up, it's all gonna be copy-pasted and recolored, at best we get a new theme expansion)
-It will not be a successful move anyway.

SRO is heavily outdated at this point and you'd need to make something almost as big as Black Desert Online to compete.

Also, the west has had enough with pay 2 win.
Joymax has gone to s*** since WeMade bought the company (2011).

New team? You mean new underpaid students that would just copy-paste stuff ?

They'll probably attempt to sue the big servers using the latest files.

Eastern Asians are known to make p2w games.
In order to craft a game competent enough to compete on the western market against the titans (Black Desert Online being one of them), you might need a new team, a new engine and millions of dollars.
Money WeMade has but won't invest.

I wish I knew Chinese. So many amazing MMORPGS out there.

WeMade? More like WeMilk the western white man.

Oh, I've just leaked a picture of their business plan :

Interesting.
Wonder what will happen with JCPlanet...

They won't do that. They will spend tons more money than they can possibly stand to gain, and they know that. The pserver scene will never die regardless of whatever "actions" (aka none) that they will take.

Joymax has been a subsidiary of WeMadeEntertainment for AGES, since 2011/2012.

This is simply another publicity stunt just like JCPlanet server channeling.

Interested to see how the community will be affected tho.. i.e. old players returning for the next ISRO server.

man, i came back hoping SRO will be all updated and fancy after nearly 20 years, but it's still the same thing (not that it's bad, i love this game, wasted most of my childhood on it and no regrets)
But, shet, it looks even more P2W than 15 years ago

Why should something happen to JCPlanet?
They are a completly different company that has only licenced
the game. As long as they continue paying for this licence everything will be fine.

Pretty similar situation with official foreign SRO servers (TRSRO, jSRO, twSRO etc.). With the only difference that JCPlanets hosts "international servers" which integrated in the official iSRO client.
