Dissconnecting someone

I've heard a few people say "Are you trying to dissconnect me!?" And then one guy did it to me. So is it possible? And if so, how is it done?

Its possible!!

How do you figure this is possible? You'd have to infect a system on conquer with a program of some sort, or possibly gain access to the sockets between clients and the server. Just curious, Ultima, how?

There is a bug in one of the packets. if you send it someone or everyone on your screen will get disconnected
if only one or everyone will get disconnected depends on one of the parameters in the packet
you cant decide which person on screen gets disconnected its random but if there is only one you get kick this person for sure of cause^^

Disconnecting the whole screen is nice if you need a market place^^

ok so what packet. And if you are caught sending it, are you banned?

I've heard of people using inavlid packets to specify a certain action that doesn't exist and watching people get C3 errors trying to load that ID/actions/texture/character equipment.

Never really thought anything too serious of it though, unless it was PK tourny, or market front row.

In fact, there use to be a lowby way of DC'ing people back when people edited their ini's specifying incorrect values for all sorts of things....before they fixed it. None the less I agree, very possible, and Ultima prolly knows the packet.

So how do you do this exactly, how do I send packets, and wha packets are there to send to dissconnet someone?

Sadly I agree, if you can't figure this out, then you shouldn't be able to use it, as most people who "learn" it will just tell their friends, and next thing you know, you can't even level without some ass disconnecting you.

is there any way of preventing others booted u out.
02/12/2006 12:33 nasuke#14
most likely not.. packets are everywhere in conquer, so unless you're in like, for example, a corner in market, the possibility that others can DC you exists anywhere, however small.. thankfully, not many people know and exploit this bug

i dont think anyone besides me knows about this flaw in the packet but maybe they have another way
