Is it possible to check statistic of (for example) currently best selling smartphones, how much was sold etc. ?

Since everyone can just add new items to ebay such a statistic would be very hard to build, because there are sometimes thousands of different listings that refer to the same item model. And most of the time they don't contain every necessary information so it would be hard to join.

Yes there are tools online if you check that can collect statistics and they have analytics. For instance its like google trends but checks ebay listings. there are many

I won't tell you about the e-bay account, but on Aliexpress there are statistics on how many goods have been sold. In principle, you can navigate by the +/- models, make some general idea for yourself whether the product is popular and what quality.
