Steps:
1. open your inventory, left click on an item
2. Pull out your internet cable
3. while not connected, drop it on another item, open a personal shop and left click on your first item
4. when you are reconnected(the items get swapped), close the shop
Your second item will be transformed into your first item. I haven't found any real use of it, becouse it's only client side change, but good luck with exploring.

If you left click on any of the 2 items, you will see that they are "connected", both of them is highlighted(you can do this with more than 2 items too, like in my next video where I connected 4 items). If you "break" their connection, for example register 1 of the items on auction, the other's icon will be bugged. It reads some icon from the memory, sometimes you can control it.
For example in my video after bugging the icon of the items, I open auction and click on epaulets, then the bugged items will turn into epaulets. Sometimes you need lots of refresh in auction, and sometimes it simply won't work or you can't control it or get dc. You can try to drop items, sometimes that works too.
