Editing .DDS

Hello everyone ^^

I've tried to edit .DDS file to make all effect better, I've also tried Prototype guide but i doesnt work for me (can't open .DDS file in any way).
So i was looking around and i found a good program who let me do it simply ^^

Requier:
- DXTBmp
- Any graphix program like MSPaint, Photoshop... (MSPaint also work but you need to be really good to edit your effect with it ^^;)

How to:
- First of all, download DXTBmp and install it. This program let you open any .dds file or .bmp file.
- If you choose to open .dds file, you will see it in the main window.
- Click on "Prefs" > "Select Editor" to choose which program you will use to edit the effect.
- Double click on the picture of effect and it will be send to the program you choose.
- Edit it in the way you want. When you finished, save it as .bmp somewhere, then go on DXTBmp and open it (the .bmp edited).
- Now, all you have to do is to save it in .dds on the co effect folder.
- You can now edit all .dds file you want :)

could just use photoshop

if you do have read what i posted, i said i wasnt able to open .dds with photoshop even with what Prototype said, following step by step. so it's just another way to edit.

oh, well i have photoshop CS2 and it can open .dds files straight off without any extra programs or plugins -shrugs-

Ermm, i didnt know that it opened em straight up =| Im gonna try edit haha
