03/02/2010 01:53 inusuka#1
Do you use linux?Do you play mabi? Then this guide might not be for you!......Er...anyways
GUIDE:
*Configure wine to run mabinogi.exe, client.exe, npkcbk64.exe, npkcmsvc.exe, HSUpdate.exe, and autoup.exe under Windows XP and under a virtual desktop. ('winecfg' in Terminal, 'add new application,' select the program, and change it to 'Windows XP' near the bottom. I think 'run in a virtual desktop' in under the 'graphics' tab.)

*Install IEs4linux. Instructions at [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] (you can ignore the other installation stuff).

*Install DirectX, preferably through winetricks. Instructions at [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] - Similar instructions, including for a lot of other possibly useful stuff at [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

*Install gstreamer codecs: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

I don't use Linux based OS's on either my PC or my PS3, so I have no clue how legit this is. If it does work the way it's supposed to, good job.

wow..and all this time i thought you had an windows emulator specifically designed for mabinogi written by you...
03/03/2010 04:41 tbstewa#9
it's not as hard to write debian as it is other languages... and kev.... i tried telling you but you were like "oh it won't work for me" and shut it out.... so i tried telling you but you wouldn't listen

most likely that is what he wanted you to think

also tbstewa, debian is not a language so what are you even talking about?

to everyone else, virtual machines or compatibility layers have nothing to do with nexon and are virtually unpatchable. this has nothing to do with mabi hacking and its just basic linux gaming knowledge. about 75% of windows games can work on linux so you can use this tutorial as a guideline for many of the games that you want to play on linux

Debian isn't a Direct language... but it IS a language.... google it

lol yeah tb is right i played with deb. fedora gentoo sabayon. and linux mint. as well as various flavors. sabayon is a gentoo based distro as well. even windows is a language remember its predecessor DOS and as well as it being unix based and there for is a language. oh and all Os regardless are unix based even BSD and thats what MAC is built on. darwin/BSD... just that its a comps language and all. i figured out how to make mabi work on my own to but decided to switch to windows instead but i gave thanks for posting the workaround in wine.

This is correct.

DOS, Windows (I don't know shit about Debian) are what a language makes up, there is no such thing as "DOS Language" Those Zeros and Ones are what make up the program, THAT is a language my friend.

Mabinogi is not a language, but the ASM inside of it is. :rtfm:
