[Moderator Application]Other Games ~ Janvier123

Hi, Epvp community members.

I decided to make this moderator application for the section: "Other Games".

ICQ: 574-742-712

Email: janvier123 [@] telenet.be

Age: 24

Why do you want to be moderator?

I always wanted to be a moderator on a large board, like epvp. Thx to John Dread i got the opportunity to become a guardian. That takes me one step closer to my dream to becoming a mod. After a while of being a guardian i think its time to get closer to becoming a moderator. Ive posted allot in the 2moons section and i've never looked outside that section. Now with the guardian status i went outside and explore all the sections that epvp has to offer. The main reason that i want to become a moderator is that i like to moderate on epvp. Keeping sections clear of violations.

How much experience do you have with the issue from the forum you apply for a moderator job?

Not much but i posted allot in the dekaron/2moons section, ill think i can manage it :) From my experience on the dekaron/2moons section its about the same rules on every other section. Its not hard to follow the main board rules. On the other hand its a new adventure into a other section of epvp witch makes it fun to do. Meet new ppl, helping new members that joined the board, giving a helping hand.

Do you have enough time to visit the board averaged two days and to take an interest in the forum?

Oh yes! Without having a job and all, i have all the time in the world now. My browser is open on epvp like 80% of the day. I have RSS on my keyboard and i visit the board each time a new reply is made. I cant really prove that iam allot online on the forums but admins are more then welcome to check my connection logs on epvp. In the last 2 week ive been checking the Other Online Games section and realized that the section it self is way to hard to handle for me, so iam taking my chances on a smaller section that Other Online Games. But the Other Games section is still the one i love the most next to 2moons/dekaron section.

Did you take part there before you sent your application?

Yes! And i mean that, ive done allot for a community such as the dekaron section. There is not really a list of all the things i did for that community section, but i can tell you a few. Made special download site for 2moons dekaron section (dkunderground.org) witch makes it the biggest download site for all your dekaron files and tools. I just stared off with a small [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] that became a sticky and now a whole site. Even that i had a few difficulties i still managed to keep my head up and still deliver a free site for them with all there tools. The latest contribution to epvp: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

Do you have a lot of patience with questions which you think their selves that they are very stupid?

At the beginning i didn't, now its getting better and better. And now i stared to follow a "assertiveness" training to become more social. I think i can mange those questions, and with the help of other moderators that wont be a problem. Iam open to all questions :)

Can you act good in general with other human beings?

Yes and no, iam kinda shy person in real life. But i act more socially towards other humans. I love to meet new members. And like i said before, my "assertiveness" training will come in to play allot, and i hope with being a moderator i can improve my skills. :D

Have you ever operated as an moderator before?

Yes on other forums but only on small boards. I think with this board or community it has more positional then other boards. I love it here so there is no need to leave or to make problems with other members. I love the respect i get here, that unique to this board. Thats the main reason i spend so much time in here, that makes it all worth! I hope i can make a difference on this board with helping out other members and moderators. Even if its with supporting the board with donations like the premium status.

Final thoughts

Well i really love this community and the respect i get here. And thats impotent to me, its all about respect giving and getting. And i hope that i get the chance to prove my skills. And please dont keep the topic clean.

Thanks for taking time on this application.
With friendly greets Janvier123

And there are reasons.
Just by searching through your recent posts, I do not find you all that helpful.
99% of your posts are
Quote:
+2 Reported At: Mon 01 Mar 2010 - 10:45:42 GMT +1 Cause: Double Post
You do not have to post every time you report someone.
It is your role as a Guardian to report posts that break the rules, but it is absolutely NOT necessary to spam those type of posts.

Once you report some one, a moderator will deal with it. The problem will be gone like it never happened. You do not have to be constantly alerting every person you report. You do not see moderators/admins posting everytime they do something, do you?

It may sometimes be important and crucial to alert the person that he was reported. But most of the time, for minor offenses, you do not need to post.

You might be doing it for a good purpose, but constantly posting things like that can annoy others and cause conflict.

Your application is good overall, but this is one of your big faults.

Read the next two sentences. I would not consider having to close a thread to be a minor offense.

we had this discussion before, pleas go to [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
and i think its better to alert a person when they make a mistake, otherwise they are gonna keep breaking the rules

and i agree with lion2205 :)

Also you do know all warnings/infraction/bans given will have reason attached and sent to the user? That's when they will know they broke the rules.

And take a look at your posts. [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

Don't you think it's a bit excessive? When ever someone responds to one of those posts, you reply with something that can spark conflict.

Reports are not made to warn the USER, reports are made to warn other USERS/GUARDS. If the guard does not write down that he reported a certain user, then 15 more guards/users could report the same guy all over again and that way they spamm the report section when it could have been avoided.

Posting #reported is usefull and needs to be done.

Isn't Mastershouter doing a good job already though? I don't think a small section needs two moderators.
