' assert ' in cheat engine means that it will verify that the bytes at the address match the bytes specified in the assert function, if they don't the script wont activate. basically just saves you the trouble of crashing because you activated a script that needs to be updated to the correct address.

essentially, you need to update the address to the correct address with that array of bytes.
