How to correctly start to coding for private server

Hi everybody (maybe wrong section, if you can move it then please),

I hope you're all fine.

I'm a software/web developper and an old SRO gamer (2006) and this game is just an addiction, every mmo tested can't be better than SRO.

I'm looking around the forum, private server section, MegaMax post, Snow, etc.

My question is certainly a frequent question, but with the massive posts on this forum, it is not easy to find the right topic to understand how to start coding, editing and fixing bug in sro private server like MegaMax and other developper.

Some people says that MegaMax is the Leader in Reverse, is that right ? Every source code he have is made by him by reverse ?

If somebody can guide me to sro coding, bug fixing, i would be pleased

You can't be the leader in reversing if you can just look things up in the source code. :kappa:


I don't think there is a "recipe" for getting started. Gather some tools (x64dbg, Cheat Engine, ReClass, Ghidra) and start reversing the game.

Reverse engineering all comes down to gathering and managing knowledge. The more you've "seen" from the client (or server), the more you understand.

In game reverse i don't have any experience, so i'm a newbie, but I want, and I can understand, but i'm looking where/how I have to start

When im looking the work done by some of developper here, I can't imagine the necessary time and the effort

No one is the Leader in Reverse buddy, it doesnt matter how you do achive your point by reverse or any other ways. As long as you get to the point and it does work and optimized then you are good. But if you are interested to find out another way to get what you want, thats up to you.
