How do you protect your pserver from getting shut down?

I've seen many popular pservers which haven't been shut down by Joymax (or whatever SRO company is called) yet.

What do those servers do to avoid that?
Do they just host their servers in Russia? Are Russia-hosted servers immune to any copyright/intellectual property shit outside? Would like some clarification on that. Thanks.

Joymax gave up the fight. People register domain names with their real name and address, hosting at OVH, and yet, nothing happens.

That sounds cool. However, talking from the legal side, is it really legal in Russia to use copyrighted stuff from outside the country?
In other words, will it be legal to use any material from other people in a Russian VPS company?

It will never be legal. Never. Some hosters just don't care about "legal letters". Preferably in countries that are not 'friends' with the US.
Hosting in Russia doesn't make things legal. The letter informing you of getting sued is just less likely to be delivered to you.
