[COMMUNITY SURVEY] Client Files modding automated service

Hello,

I would like to ask if there would be some people interested in a .NOS files modding service.

Lemme explain.

Actually, when you are modifying your .NOS files, you are editing all .NOS files by hand, through OnexExplorer.
Within NosWings project, we developed a tool that made us able to easily mod our .NOS files without having to open anything.

We have "patch bundles" that are a group of defined patchs (new items, new skills, skills edition, new icons, new images...) and our internal tool will do the job to patch the existing .NOS files with your content

Just a list of actually supported .NOS files :
- NSlangData (languages files)
- NSgtdData (items, skills, monsters, quests, buffs...)
- NScliData (conststring.dat)
- NSipData (icons)
- NS4BbData (big images)
- NStcData (map grid)

Under active development :
- NStpData (Map and model textures)
- NStgData (3D Models)
- NStpeData (Effect textures)
- NStpuData (UI textures)

How will it work ?
A web interface with guides to be able to setup correctly your own "patchs"
You give us all your patches, click a button, our tool will generate it and you'll be notified that your generated .NOS files are available for download.
Only you will be able to download your modded files

Advantages :
- Modders will be able to exchange their own patches between each other
- Servers will be able to easily update their own content with latest official files
- Servers will be able to easily manage cross language modding
- A serious development team known for its work that can answer to your needs
- Automatic update with latest official content

Our targets :
- Servers
- Client Modders

If you are interested, what would be the "right business model" for you as an user ?
Subscriptions ? Per "generation" payment ?
What would be the right price ?

Why do we want that ? We came to a point that we need to be able to setup our own infrastructure needs (NosWings server) and we already have a non negligible cost.

Why don't we simply sell/share the tool ?
We have seen through the years that many people in this community likes to fuck the ones who work instead of supporting them, we need money in order to be able to make our ideas come true on NosWings, we found a way to finance it.

Right now, only our internal tool is developed and work, all the "web interface & delivery" services are not developed at all, that's why this survey was made, we don't need it and we would like to know if it's worth it for us to write it.

Any constructive review is gladly welcomed.
If you have any question or any point that is not obvious enough, do not hesitate to let us know so we can give as much detail as we can to be clear to all.

Really interesting stuff,
personally i would like to see some tools which can be easily used without having a wide knowledge of clientmodding.

As for the payment i guess one-time purchase would be optimal but with some kind of "subscription system" or a way to prevent leaks so you can maximize your earnings by developing these tools.

Everything is documented on our side to provide user friendly service.
Our customers will be able to easily share to each other their "modding packs" to each other without problems, just drag and dropping a single directory with the files content and a user friendly modding pack configuration will be enough.
Since we started to work on NosWings new version, we always thought about doing things that are easily configurable by someone without programming knowledge nor deep knowledge in .NOS files
Also, we are looking to provide a service, not just a developed tool, "Modding as a service" would be the right term to define what we would like to provide.
I repeat that we have already seen in this community how it goes when people get access to something, most of the time it gets shared to each other (even thought it was not in the initial contract, people do not seem to really care since we are on internet) or leaked on elitepvpers.
That's why we opted for an automatized solution where the job that is "doing the job" is ran on our own infrastructure to prevent this leaks.
Also, there is another important thing, the price, selling the tool itself as a one time payment (which is still possible but the price would be "too much" for this community) we designed our own patching system, which is our intellectual property (the architecture, the research from reverse engineers such as friends111 or morsisko to be able to modify the .NOS files).
That price wouldn't be affordable to single modders, but we would like to avoid repeating the same annoying task to modify their .nos by hand, an example for that would be Kravos, he used to do some modding for servers but everytime he had to modify it through OnexExplorer (the only public tool available), which is a lot of time wasted, especially when you have a lot of things to modify.

Hope my explanation is clear, thanks for your feedback.
