i'm in big trouble. no inet connection ower wireless lan.

i connect my netgear ma111 v2 adapter to my pc, install it, choose a wireless network whith internet and get an ip/sn-mask like:
168.254.X.X / 255.255.0.0
i know that this ip is wrong and i know the right ip. manual imput doesn't help. have tryed to reinstall the driver. doesn't help. repairing, too. looks like it doesn't try to get an ip-adress.

have this problem not the first time. new win helped the last time, but not now.

need HELP. PLZ.

Hi,

try to let windows automatically assign a new ip address. when done, click start -> type in cmd -> type in ipconfig -renew and wait a few minutes, then tell me what the operating system says.

because i have a german winXP, have problems whith translation of errors into english.

it says something like:

The operation was assigned to a device, that not a socket is.

maybe if i would know, what it means, fixing this problem would be easyer for me :ops:

ok. hier beschreibung in deutsch:
