Pheasants changed into other monsters? only image

I know there is a way to rename the files of pheasant action so they would look like a Gibbon or a bigger monster.. I tried to modify monster.dat and was unsuccessful, any of you know how to do this?/\

(Btw i want it for Qonquer since only pheasants and turtledoves are the monsters)

Edit: Just found out that monsters are classified by IDs, what is the ID for Gibbon and for Pheasant and for Turtledove please?

Gibbon has an ID of 120, Pheasants/TurtleDove are 104.

Changing monster.dat won't do much, there's nothing really in it used to generate the ID. The TypeID is the closest thing, but no cigar.
The mesh ID is actually sent to the client for every monster, and unless you intercept every packet of that type and modify the mesh otherwise, you'll need to change all the textures and meshes. The texture alone will just paint over a Pheasant mesh with the Gibbon texture, which will look rather odd. There is also the problem that changine a mesh will change it for all monsters of that type (eg, MeteorDove, TreasureBird etc will be affected).

So, there are 3 files you need to modify. 3dtexture.ini, 3dobj.ini, 3dmotion.ini.

These take an ID and reference the files. For monsters, you multiply their ID by 1million to obtain their texture ID. Search for that ID within the files, and modify the file it references to.

For example, in 3dtexture.ini, find Pheasant texture.

104000000=c3/texture/104000000.dds

Modify to this:

104000000=c3/texture/120000000.dds

Do the same in 3dmotion and 3dobj. 3dmotion has a long list for each mesh, and you'll need to change every filename, quite tedious. You can never guarantee that the motions will be correct either.

Mesh 104N is used for Pheasants, they were modified in Co2, hence the N for new. There's some other monsters the same. Their ID remains 104, but the filename/path is 104N.

It's a bit of a waste of time, I wouldn't bother tbh.

I have done every step and like you said you can never guarantee that the motions will be correct. This is the error:

104000000 in ini of 3dobj is not found.

Is it something I have missed, or does the motion file not exist?

I think what is going on is the server is asking for 104000000 and it does not exist since I modified it to 120000000 (In file 3dobj.ini)

Oops i think i know what i did wrong
I changed:
104000000=c3/monster/120/120000000.c3
See the difference?
120000000=c3/monster/120/120000000.c3

Oh and now I get another error:

104000401 and default action 104000401 are not found.

I tried a different monster and works smoothly except its the same size as a pheasant how do i change the size of monster? (monster files are already renamed)

Edit: Im trying for over 3 hours playing around with the files, any ideas?


After another try: It only works when I use monsters that are new like 132N (hence there is always a file like 104000000.C3 in those new moster files and not in others like Gibbon :( Wish it was the other way around lol

Ahh....
I remember doing allt he coding and stuff for Qonquer...
way back when lol
Me and Teenie singlehandedly came up with every single code for all the monsters.
And we figured out how to place them and spawn them and all that.
But then we kinda just gave up on it. We got bored lol
I think i do still have a list of all the codes around here tho.
