The right tutorial for creating a server

Hi,

It is maybe a stupid question, but there is to much topics for creating a server or editing, that I don't understand what is "today" the best tutorial to create a personnal server.
I want to build a good and stable server for me and my colleagues (on a local network).

Somebody can post a link to the most stable psro guide please ?
