private server client edits for maps/ items

09/21/2019 03:33 hathaway#1
im looking to make some edits or add some maps to a private server i play on, not exactly sure of the version its on but we have max +9 single reborn so its pretty old school. im looking to add squama maps to my client but cant seem to figure out how to convert to dmaps format. does anyone know a good converter that can convert to dmaps or have any idea how i could go about adding these maps to my client? also looking to change the name of commandtokens to the corresponding tactics to make moonbox making easier. ive been out of the game for seeral years now and have no clue where to find anything anymore.

thanks in advance!

A set of maps that show squama locations? Can you please be a bit more specific? Are these other dmaps? Are these pictures? Because as far as I know, squamas are completely server sided and have nothing to do with dmaps.

they are not .dmap files, but they have edited mini maps, not actual server map and they have little yellow spots on them where the squamas are located. also there's a map that shows the most likely spawns of the meteor dove i would like to add

Riiiiggghhhht, soooooo... that's all server sided. The server spawns squamas, monsters, NPCs, other players, etc. wherever they choose to. Sure, you can add squamas as a fixed effect to a dmap, but then it wouldn't disappear when you stand over it (and set off the trap that gives you money or items). As a player, there's really nothing you can do to help them with that. It's all server and database stuff. Did anyone tell you this was possible? I'm a bit concerned about the legitimacy of the server you're playing on if that's the case (but I'd hope that's not the case and that you're just excited to help). There are some client things you can definitely help with, just not squamas.

I think your misunderstanding what i’m saying, i’m not trying to do anything with the actual maps themselves, i’m trying to edit the Minimap up in the top corner that shows you where your at on the map itself. I’m trying to edit the Minimap that you can minimize or enlarge to see where your trying to go. I did this before back in the day but it’s been so long i don’t remember how it was done. I see. You'll have to extract data.wdf to get all the minimaps, but they're located in data/minimap. There are tools for extracting WDF files here if you search for it.

ok so the .dmap files are the actual maps. where you edit portals and mob spawns and what not on the server side?

Portal locations are edited in the dmap files on the client side. Mob spawns, NPC spawns, squama spawns, where portals teleport you to, etc. are all server sided.

Ah, i don’t care about portal location or anything, all i wanted was Squama maps and met zone maps but i got it all now. Just need to find a working itemtype file that doesn’t make my work gear disappear or figure out how to edit them so i can change tactic command tokens so i can see which is wich without having to put them on an f-key

You can use this to decrypt your itemtype, search your command tokens and change each accordingly, then encrypt and replace it.

ini/itemtype.dat

Why don't you try to use it and tell us?
09/25/2019 02:16 hathaway#15
they do work on 5017, for some reason the key code you use to tell it what type of file it is i thought was the client number haha
