Securing the VSRO Server

Hello, I want to start a vsro server project. I'm good at editing sql and ASM but I have no experince how to secure this server. I will buy a popular filter for my server. And use open-source PServerCMS. What else to do secure my server? Thanks much.

First and foremost and most importantly: Solid ddos solution from a decent hosting company.

I would say before that get to know Firewalls. Either the default Windows Firewall or a external solution. Open ports could be abused tho.

I have already own a one game VPS from OVH. I'm talking about vsro files. Triggers in sql? or Disabled ports etc.

Create your own databases from scratch and you don't need to worry about any backdoor-triggers...

For ports, only allow the ones players should access(gateway/download/agent).
